The country Niortais and Marais Poitevin :

Originally settled in a bend of the river Sevre Niortaise, Niort has perfectly preserved it's glorious inheritance. Trees and gardens contribute to create a rural atmosphere which makes the city pleasant to live and walk in and acts as a precursor to the Marais Poitevin.

The Mellois :
When you visit the Mellois region, do you know what awaits you? The burial grounds of Neolithic man, ancient silver mines of the Kings of the Francs, where you can see how the royal currency was made. Good examples of Romanic churches, constructed in the Middle Ages can be seen throughout the area. The landscape has been influenced by geographical history, many parts of which are now protected.
