La Puisaye, Colette was born here, loved it, sang its praises, and defied it, too. In her work you will find tales of sublime nature playing hide-and-seek with your senses, forests and hedgerows. Follow her, and you will have to travel through leafy tunnels, around a hedge, into the depths of a valley… To discover a world of soft clay and ochre, of woods and water, of castles surrounded by moats: here we are at Saint-Fargeau, Ratilly and on to Guédelon, where the workers have recently embarked upon an amazing building project… Here men are craftsmen and farmers by birth, potters by tradition, artists by choice.
Further on, Aubigny, Courson, Druyes… You are now in La Forterre. Here the slopes are more pronounced and the limestone rocks open up great quarries for the master builders.
