Each habitable room (except sleeping areas in bed-sits and flats) has
a window opening to the outside.
Floor, walls and ceiling are adequately soundproofed.
Each rental has at least one eating area adjacent to or independent of
the kitchen.
Bedrooms have beds 140 cm (55") wide for 2 persons, or 90 cm (35")
for 1 person (2 bunk beds 80 cm [31"] wide are allowed) and are separated
by a door from the living area.
Shower- or bathroom is separate and inside the accommodation. For more
than 6 persons, there is a second shower- or bathroom.
Lavatories are separate or in the shower- or bathroom, inside the accommodation.
Facilities:
Kitchen or cooking area equipment is sufficient for the number of occupants.
Furniture is in good condition, clean and matching, sufficient for the
rental’s sleeping capacity.
Heating, central or electric, individual or collective, ensures a minimum
temperature of 19°C (66°F) in each room. In the overseas possessions,
ventilators or ceiling fans are compulsory for each room.
Volume of hot water available per day, if not unlimited, is sufficient
for the rental’s official sleeping capacity, with a minimum of 40
litres (10.6 US gallons) per person.

General accommodation standard is higher, and facilities more numerous.
A barbecue and washing machine (shared with landlord or other tenants)
are available to tenants.
Flats have a balcony or terrace (at least 4 sq.m).

dishwasher, and, in overseas possessions, air conditioning. A colour television

Kitchen includes private washing machine, deep-freeze and dishwasher.
Rental includes board games, and an hi-fi equipment is recommended.
