Clévacances France is based on separate initiatives that developed in parallel in three tourist regions in France: Meublés Confiance (Languedoc-Roussillon), Nid Vacances (Brittany) and Cléconfort (Midi-Pyrénées).
On 25 September 1995, these three quality seals merged their resources and skills to form a national federation with a single name: Locations de France Clévacances.
The Fédération Nationale des Locations de France Clévacances comprises member-departments and representatives of the Fédération Nationale des Comités Departmentaux du Tourisme (FNCDT), Fédération Nationale des Comités Régionaux du Tourisme (FNCRT), Fédération Nationale de l’Immobilier (FNAIM, the French national estate agents’ organisation), and Fédération Nationale des Offices de Tourisme et Syndicats d’Initiative (FNOTSI). The national Clévacances federation administers the whole system by promoting the network of rentals and bed & breakfasts, circulating legal, tax and practical information to its departmental representatives, defining and enforcing the quality criteria that are evidence of professionalism.
Local authorities, tourist bodies, owners and managers of rentals and bed & breakfasts, and estate agents are represented on the departmental Clévacances bodies.
The departmental representatives follow the line laid down by Clévacances France and see that it is enforced. They are also members’ main local contacts with the national network.
Contribute to the development of a quality policy for holiday rentals, together with all tourist professionals: departmental, regional, local tourist offices and estate agents.
Represent and defend the interests of members on local, departmental, regional and national bodies.
Guarantee accommodation quality by laying down the quality seal criteria in the Clévacances national Charter and enforcing current regulations.
Promote quality holiday rentals on national and international tourist markets, with the help and support of local, departmental, regional and national partners.
Develop the Clévacances France network throughout France and ensure technical coordination among member-departments.
Collect practical, legal and tax information and circulate it to members via the relevant departmental representative.
Defend and promote the brand image of Clévacances France by active communication.
Our partners: tourist professionals all over France
As part of each department’s tourist policy, the development of Clévacances is based on a genuine partnership between members and the combination of a range of skills:
The departmental Clévacances representative, who sends out an inspector to see that the national federation’s policy is applied. The representative is the main local contact for Clévacances France members.
Departmental tourist committee (CDT)
Its main role is to promote Clévacances approved accommodation at the shows and exhibitions it attends. Its experience in collecting tourist and local planning data is invaluable for the development of Clévacances France
Departmental union of tourist offices
Together with the CDT, it encourages local tourist offices to see that the Clévacances Charter is applied.
Tourist office
A key link in the chain, it informs owners and encourages them to have their accommodation approved and classified, and is involved in inspections and promotion to guests.
Estate agent
As a member of Clévacances and representative of property owners, he or she both benefits from and promotes the Clévacances name. An essential partner.
Member landlords, who are ambassadors for the Clévacances network.
