Your accommodation is listed in your department’s Clévacances
catalogue.
The entry comprises:
location (map ref.), town or village, accommodation description
and category; a photograph is strongly recommended for greater impact;
weekly tariffs, and weekend if applicable: low, mid, high and peak
season, spa tariff,
local and nearby leisure activities,
membership of the Chèques-Vacances network, if applicable
membership of the Tourisme et Handicap quality seal, if applicable
contact details for booking the accommodation: landlord, estate
agent or booking agency
contact details of the person delegated to provide service and assistance,
if applicable
Each catalogue informs guests of the department’s main tourist
attractions.
Catalogues are published and updated every year.
They are distributed by local tourist offices (OTSI), departmental (CDT)
and regional (CRT) tourist authorities, and the representatives of the
Clévacances network.
www.clevacances.com: a door key for everyone
You will find on the website all the practical information for applying
for quality seal approval so as to optimise the management of your property,
with further details about the network, such as its structure and history.
The Clévacances website also promotes your accommodation: the advanced
search function covers all Clévacances rentals and bed & breakfasts,
and the Special Choice section includes a selection of Clévacances
accommodation with photographs.
There are links to the websites of departmental and regional tourist authorities,
Maison de la France, etc.; access via Destination gives a presentation,
visual and location of each individual French department.
The Clévacances site has been designed for easy use.
Advertisements
The Clévacances network regularly places advertisements in rental
magazines, the regional French press, selected works committee guides,
etc.
Clévacances posters
In addition to the brochure, a 40x60cm poster presenting the Clévacances
France network to the general public indicates the destinations on
offer; it is distributed at trade promotion events and at Clévacances
outlets (local tourist offices, etc.).
In addition to this web page, a 40x60cm poster available in all
Clévacances member-departments presents our network to private
landlords and estate agents interested in a quality seal for their
accommodation. The poster is displayed in town halls, tourist offices
and places open to the public.
Press relations
Clévacances France works with a partner specialising in press
and public relations to promote its quality seal with the French and foreign
press, and establish permanent links between journalists, Clévacances
France and its members.
Objectives:
raise awareness of Clévacances among the general public,
show the variety of Clévacances tourist destinations (countryside,
seaside, mountains, towns, spas, and French overseas possessions),
highlight Clévacances advantages and differentiate its offering
from other seals.
Tourist shows
In France for local tourism and abroad, Clévacances catalogues
are distributed at a large number of promotional events via your departmental
representative, the departmental and regional tourist authorities and
member estate agents.
Advertising material
To decorate your accommodation and welcome guests, Clévacances
advertising material (stickers, key-rings, bath soap, etc.) is available
from your departmental representative.
Marking your accommodation
Once your membership is confirmed, you will receive the documents that
show you are a member:
Identification:
A sign to post outside the front door of the accommodation to identify
it.
A year-dated certificate showing the accommodation grading to be
posted inside.
For your information we publish Infoclés magazine.
To encourage an ongoing dialogue between our property owner and estate
agent members, departmental representatives and partners (tourist authorities),
Clévacances France produces an internal communication magazine
called Infoclés.
It is sent to you twice a year (January and July) by your departmental
representative.
It is intended to:
help you understand the operations of the Clévacances network,
keep you regularly informed about Clévacances network news
and practical help of various sorts (tax, insurance, rights and obligations,
advice, ideas, etc.),
publish your personal comments and experiences with your accommodation,
and give answers to questions you raise,
A good way to feel at home in the Clévacances family!
The Clévacances network and you
Whether you are the property owner or an estate agent, you are the ones
who deal with the guests. In this way you are ambassadors for the Clévacances
France quality seal.
To help you, the Clévacances departmental representative keeps
you continually informed of the meetings, AGMs, and training courses that
are the internal life of the Clévacances France network.
Your paperwork
For your relations with tenants, certain documents are essential:
Contractual rental documents
the rental agreement (to avoid misunderstandings) clearly lays down
the rental conditions with your tenant. It is produced in two copies
and contains overleaf the Clévacances general conditions for
renting,
the rental description complements the agreement and presents the
exact features of the accommodation. It must be sent out with the
agreement.
Documents for both rentals and bed & breakfast
the inventory details all equipment and utensils made available
to the tenant during their stay, so that any item missing may be checked
when the tenant returns the keys,
the final receipt confirms that the stay has been paid for,
the residence certificate enables the tenant to claim grants (welfare,
works committee, etc.) and will be sent out on request by your departmental
representative.
Document for rental only
the condition of premises report avoids disputes at the end of the
stay concerning the state of the accommodation or the meter readings.
The report must be completed by both parties during the arrival and
departure inspections. It is produced in two copies.
Documents for bed & breakfast only
the deposit receipt confirms that the deposit has been received,
the tariff sheet indicates the price of the room, and where applicable
any services provided, to be posted inside and outside each room.
These documents are required by French law when you operate
as a landlord of furnished accommodation, and may be obtained from your
Clévacances departmental representative. They are essential for
preventing or settling many of the disputes that may arise.
The Clévacances departmental representative is there to listen
to your remarks and provide a service. He or she comes on an inspection
visit at least once every three years to update the quality seal, and
every time there is a complaint or dispute with a customer.
The job of the Clévacances departmental representative includes
monitoring how often your accommodation is rented, and he or she may asks
you questions to help establish a report on the tourist season.
These indicators are necessary to identify your type of guests, their
expectations and requirements, to guide our promotion work, and adjust
our Quality Charter to give better service.
