On 6 June 1944, the allied troops landed here to liberate France. Museums, sites, and military cemeteries all help perpetuate the memory of this important page of XXth Century history.
The hinterland countryside is a celebration of fertile nature : orchards and blooming apple trees, cows and horses in the meadows. The banks of the Orne alternatively offer you their steep rock faces, tumultuous waters, and wooded banks, and the Land of Auge invites you to discover its AOC quality label regional products.
