An open invitation to discover all the charms and pleasures of an amazing region throughout the seasons.
A thousand and one places to stay in Morbihan
Discover the Gulf of Morbihan which has as many islets and rocks as there are days in the year. There you will find the aptly named "Belle-Ile-en-Mer", which is full of places of exceptional beauty and purity. There too lies Groix, the tuna-fishers' island, whose charming insular lifestyle has given rise to the saying « see Groix and you see joy ». Not forgetting the two little sister-isles of Houat and Hoëdic, havens of peace and tranquility, lying alongside Belle-Ile.
Within the walls of history
Overhanging parapets, timber-framed houses, ramparts, and bell-towers mark the passage of time. All these buildings have come down through the centuries largely undamaged, and you will see them everywhere in the course of your rambles, from the valleys to the far-away islands. Even outside those towns which are particularly known for their Art or History or their special character, it is very rare not to find something special round every corner of the lane – a sleepy little chapel, a wayside cross covered in lichen, or an unusual fountain full of tales and legends. It all takes you back in time...
The mystery of the standing stones
From the Morbihan coastline to the Landes of Lanvaux, the rich concentration of megaliths in all their various forms – particularly menhirs ans dolmens – never ceases to astonish. This area considered to be one of the most important megalithic sites in the world, is still being excavated and has not yet finished revealing the hidden secrets behind this amazing evidence of Neolithic civilization.
A green undulating landscape, lively or restfull rivers, a sea in perpetual motion – the countryside is full of natural riches to colour your walks on land and your excursions on water in canoe, kayak or house-boat. In Morbihan the canals, towpaths and pedestrian walkways spread out before you for your pleasure.

The growing availability of seawater spa treatments confirms, if proof were needed, the healthgiving properties of the fresh sea air and seawater of the region. Morbihan offers more than fine sandy beaches for lazing around on, or a collection of creeks ans rocks ; take advantage of its natural revitalising energy to participate in the many openair leisure activities available on land and sea.
