Behind the mountain Sainte Victoire, at an altitude of 600m, the observatory of Sinne enjoys an exceptional setting, conducive to astronomical practice.

You will discover our dome and its large Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope of 355 mm diameter and other instruments for visual observation.

Practice of astronomy for the members. Monthly public evenings: slide show, star and laser constellations, celestial mythology. Observation of the deep sky (galaxies, nebulae, clusters of stars, planets of the moment and the moon) with instruments and under dome.

Created in August 2000, the Grand Site Sainte-Victoire, labeled "Grand Site de France", is a territory of nearly 34,500 hectares of which 6,525 are classified sites. Located between the Durance valley to the north and the valley of the Arc in the South, it adjoins the department of Var in the East and includes, in the West, a part of the commune of Aix-en-Provence. The Grand Site Sainte-Victoire project focuses on the development and protection of the natural and cultural environment and concerns 14 communes including Vauvenargues.
