A comfortable wooden chalet of 60 m2, combining nature and relaxation, this is what Le Chalet du Lac in Beaulieu offers you. As soon as you arrive, you will be seduced by the authentic setting and the view from the terrace.

Out of sight, you can enjoy your meals on the terrace in a preserved environment. From May to October, you can relax in the heated swimming pool and inflatable spa.

The large living room has beautiful natural light provided by a bay window, giving access to the terrace. The open kitchen invites conviviality and has all the equipment to prepare your meals (hob, oven, raclette grill, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, etc.).

Velvet sofa and armchairs face the television, and contribute to the cocooning atmosphere of the living room. In winter, you will be enveloped by the comforting warmth of the wood stove.

The first floor is organized around the bathroom and the sleeping area. Spacious and contemporary, the bathroom is equipped with a beautiful walk-in shower. The toilets are separate.

The two bedrooms, with walls covered in light paneling, have a double bed (one 160 cm, the other 140 cm) and storage. The mezzanine houses two single beds (80 cm).

For your comfort, sheets are provided and beds are made upon your arrival. On request, a baby kit (bed, high chair, bath) is available to you.

The rental also has a washing machine, a bicycle room and a carport carport.

The Bort-les-Orgues dam retains the waters of the Dordogne. This concrete structure with a height of 120 meters has a 21 km long reservoir allowing numerous nautical activities.

Supervised swimming, boat trips, canoeing or pedal boats, panoramic speedboat cruises, water skiing, paddle, towed buoy and fishing. The lake is the ideal place for a moment of relaxation with family, or friends, around all these activities!

The dam forms the 4th largest water reservoir in France. Inside, its factory provides electricity to nearly 130,000 homes. Take the time to discover the depths of the dam. The guided tour is informative and impressive, you will be up close to the turbines.

The Château de Val narrowly escaped being submerged when the dam was commissioned in 1952. It now finds itself with its feet in the water, nestled on a small peninsula on the edge of the lake. The castle’s courtyard and chapel are freely accessible. On a guided tour, the castle can be discovered gradually through the rooms and floors. Painting exhibitions, visits dedicated to young audiences, concerts in the main courtyard enliven the site in summer.

The Ruins of the Château de Thynières offer a beautiful view of the Dordogne Valley and the Château de Val. To access this ancient fortress, located on a rocky promontory, and dating from the end of the Middle Ages, a pedestrian path is set up (3 km round trip). The site is accessible by mountain bike via a route departing from Place de Beaulieu (circuit no. 12 - 9 km).

After all your efforts, treat yourself to a little comfort at the Haute Auvergne honey house in Beaulieu. La Maison du Miel et des Plantes is a partner beekeeping operation of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park. There you can discover the exciting world of bees, visit the garden of medicinal and aromatic plants and taste delicious honey products.

In addition to beekeeping, the region is famous for cheeses (Saint Nectaire - Cantal), dairy products and meat from Salers. Go and meet producers, for direct sale on the farm or at farmers' markets and stock up on good products before leaving.

During your stay in Sumène-Artense, dan a radius of around twenty km, you can visit fascinating small museums. From the Maison de la Mineralogy du Massif Central (Antignac 20 km), via the Mining Museum (Champagnac 20 km), the Tannery and Leather Museum (Bort-les-Orgues 10 km) or again the Museum of Storms and Lightning (Champs-sur-Tarentaine-Marchal 12 km), there is no shortage of ideas for cultural visits.

If you want to explore, on foot or by bike, the volcanoes of Auvergne, two options are available to you.

Head towards the Puy de Dôme department to travel along the majestic Chaîne des Puys. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is made up of more than 80 volcanoes including Puy de Sancy. If you are a winter sports enthusiast, you will find what you are looking for in the resorts of Mont Dore and Super Besse.

Follow in the footsteps of the largest volcano in Europe and climb Puy Mary - Cantal volcano, classified as a Great Site of France.
Unlike the 80 small volcanoes that make up the Chaîne des Puys, the Cantal volcano forms a single volcano. The ascent of Puy Mary (altitude of 1787 m) is possible for untrained walkers and families with children.
