The advantages of the accommodation
Description
It is near the numerous megaliths which punctuate the landscape of the Pays de Saint-Flour that the aptly named Gîte Le dolmen is located. With a capacity of 6 people, this independent house is located in the hamlet of Touls in Coltines. In this corner of Cantal, the landscapes are grandiose and varied. From the high plateaus of the Planèze de Saint-Flour, via the Truyère gorges or the Cantal volcano, set off on an adventure on foot, by bike or by motorbike! GITE IN COLTINES IN A GREEN SETTING The Dolmen farm and gite are nestled at an altitude of 950 meters in a small mountain hamlet very close to Coltines. During your stay, you will be welcomed, in all conviviality and simplicity, by Sylvie and André on their organic farm. You will stay in an independent house. This robust stone building of 92 m2 is spread over 2 levels and can accommodate 6 people. Farm table, dresser, hat maker, Comtoise clock, inglenook bench (fireplace). The old wooden furniture brings a touch of authenticity to the large living room on the ground floor. The living room consists of an equipped kitchen (combined electric stove, electric oven, refrigerator, small freezer, microwave, dishwasher, small appliances) open to the living room. The essential large family table, ideal for bringing everyone together for a meal, provides the connection between the kitchen and the living room. The living room is structured around the traditional cantou. An alcove accommodates a daybed. A sofa and a TV complete the layout. The ground floor bathroom includes a shower, a sink, a toilet, a changing table and a washing machine. Inside your vacation home, wood is everywhere. The paneled walls and the wooden floor warm up the atmosphere of the 3 bedrooms located upstairs. Two bedrooms are equipped with a double bed (140 cm). The third bedroom has 3 single beds (90 cm), including 1 bunk bed. A baby kit, toys and books are available free of charge. On this floor you will also find a bathroom with bathtub, sink and toilet. Small stone walls, typical of the region, enclose the grounds of this vacation rental. From the terrace, furnished with garden furniture and barbecue, you can quietly enjoy the calm of the surrounding countryside. Good to know Animals are accepted under conditions, please contact the owners Linen is not provided, it is offered at an additional cost. Cleaning service (100€) obligatory. Free parking on site Shops in Coltines and Neussargues-en-Pinatelle. GETAWAYS IN THE PAYS DE SAINT-FLOUR, EXPERIENCE A LIFE-SIZE VACATION As its name suggests, the Touls dolmen is located in Touls very close to your vacation rental. Did you know ? The Pays de Saint Flour has a collection of remarkable megaliths, dolmens and menhirs which bear witness to a very ancient settlement. If the subject interests you, a leaflet “Focus on megaliths”, designed by the Pays d’Art et d’Histoire du Pays de Saint-Flour, lists these remains dating back several millennia. Easily accessible on foot, via marked paths, they are generally erected in an open space with a very clear view of the Planèze plateaus. La Planèze is a high basalt plateau, formed by lava flows from the Cantal volcano. Located between the Monts du Cantal and the Margeride, it has very little difference in altitude, which makes it easy to explore on foot, on horseback or by bike. In the village of Coltines, 2 km from the Dolmen gîte, you will spend a pleasant time at the Auvergne Agricultural Museum. Located in a typical 17th century farm, this museum is dedicated to rural life in Haute-Auvergne. An informative, interactive and fun visit that will delight young and old! Sailhant Castle, 9 km from your vacation rental, sits on a spectacular rocky outcrop more than 30 meters high and overlooks a waterfall. A unique site which belongs to the historic route of the Auvergne castles. In Saint-Flour, you can stroll, between upper town and lower town, in the streets of the former religious capital of Haute-Auvergne. Cathedral, former episcopal palace, market hall, private mansions, the built heritage of the historic center is remarkable. Take the time to sit down and savor the local specialties: truffade, pounti, charcuterie, AOP cheeses from Auvergne and the famous blond lentil from Saint-Flour. Labeled “Slow food”, red label and IGP, it is unique. At the Saint-Flour-Coltines aerodrome, you can embark on a unique experience: flying with the birds in an ultralight aircraft. You can also fly over the Cantal volcano, the largest volcanic massif in Europe, in a hot air balloon. Remember to book your flight! All around Saint Flour, de your towns, like Chaudes-Aigues and Murat, invite you to vacation. Chaudes-Aigues, between the Monts du Cantal and Aubrac, is renowned for its 32 hot water springs. The Par spring, the hottest in Europe, springs naturally at 82°C. The history of the city is linked to geothermal energy and hydrotherapy. The Géothermia museum tells the story of the use of hot water and geothermal energy in Europe. Did you know ? 40 houses are still heated by geothermal energy. At the heart of the Cantal volcano, Murat is built on the banks of the Alagnon river. Bredons and its priory church, Bonnevie with its monumental virgin and its basalt organs, Chastel-sur-Murat and its Saint-Antoine chapel: these 3 basalt rocks surround the medieval city. Labeled Petite Cité de character®, Murat displays its private mansions and basalt and phonolite houses for walkers to see. A stop to add to your travel diary! Fans of industrial heritage will be delighted to discover the famous Garabit viaduct. At its feet, the Truyère has dug its bed into a sumptuous valley. The imposing viaduct, 564 meters long and 122 meters high, designed by Gustave Eiffel and Léon Boyer, was completed in 1884. A superb lighting display reveals its iron lace. The developments on the Truyère gorges gave rise to the Garabit-Grandval, Lanau and Sarrans reservoirs. Popular with fishermen, these lakes have leisure centers that are very popular with fans of water activities. On the water, on foot, by bike or motorbike, the wild beauty of the islands, peninsulas and green valleys of the Truyère gorges can be discovered as you wish. Tours are available from tourist offices. In a completely different register, but just as majestic, the Cantal mountains will offer you beautiful emotions. Here again, outdoor enthusiasts will be able to indulge in their favorite activities: hiking, horseback riding, cycle touring, mountain biking or even observing wild fauna and flora. From the summits of Puy Mary - Grand Site de France (1,787 m) and Plomb du Cantal, the highest peak in the department (1,855 m), you will be dazzled by the grandiose views of the Cantal volcano. In winter, you can go to the Lioran station or the Prat-de-Bouc station. Snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and/or downhill skiing, dog sledding... You can do it all, and all of this just 15 minutes by car from the Dolmen gîte!
