Our vacation rental is nestled on the shores of Lake Saint-Etienne de Cantalès, a stretch of water popular with all travellers, whether fishermen or other holidaymakers wishing to recharge their batteries. The accommodation is more precisely located in Lacapelle-Viescamp, a small town in Cantal characterized by a green setting. It is labeled fishing lodge and has an area of 80 m2, in which 6 people have the opportunity to stay in excellent conditions. It is a single storey house with 3 bedrooms, each of which has a 140 cm bed. In the living room, opposite the dining table, there is a rustic cantou, an authentic fireplace emblematic of south-west France. In addition, each of the rooms in the Gîte de Renac benefits from a sober and neat decoration.

Outside, our guests are likely to read a book, have a coffee or share a meal on one of the two beautiful terraces, respectively accessible from the kitchen and the dining room.

The historical and cultural heritage around Aurillac

Your visit to Lacapelle-Viescamp is a good opportunity to explore Cantal, which has many interesting sites. In the immediate surroundings of our rural lodging, there are in particular the the Château de Viescamp, the Pont de la Marie and the SNCF Viaduct. After a lunch rich in succulent Auvergne dishes, you could stretch your legs by strolling around the Cassan and Prentegarde marshes, which are home to exceptional biodiversity. Other exceptional natural environments deserve your attention, these are for example the Gorges de la Tuyère, the Rocher du Peintre site and the summit of Puy Mary. Added to this are destinations of undeniable charm, such as Conques, Loubressac, Autoire and Argentat.

Finally, note that our fisherman's house for rent in Cantal is located only about twenty minutes from Aurillac, prefecture of the department nicknamed the capital of umbrellas.

Fishing and nautical pleasures on the lake

Due to its location, it is a heavenly fishing lodge in the Cantal! Indeed, it was built a few meters from the shores of Lake Saint-Etienne de Cantalès, a stretch of water in which carp, pike-perch, roach, perch, catfish, black-bass... so many species that the most persistent among you will have the pleasure of looking for in the different environments that make up the lake (gorges, ruins, rocky points, beaches, etc.) At the end of the session, you have the opportunity to store your fish in a dedicated fridge/freezer.

A superb expanse of water obliges, many Cantaliens and French and foreign travelers come to have fun by practicing activities other than fishing. Note in particular that the beach has the advantage of being only 300 meters from the Renac gîte. Before or after a refreshing swim, you can learn or improve your skills in stand up paddle, canoeing, windsurfing, among others. Parents even have the opportunity to take their children to try out the various inflatable structures set up on the site of this large artificial lake, when they do not choose to take a little height on the tree climbing course. When you return from these activities, it is also a pleasure to indulge in a game of pétanque before the meal.
