A charming, comfortable and warm holiday home

This building, skilfully enhanced, deploys on the ground floor, a friendly living space.
The living room is organized around a large stone fireplace which occupies a prominent place. You will enjoy meeting all together by the fireside.
The sofa converts into an extra bed to accommodate two additional guests. From the living room, you will easily slide to the semi-open kitchen and the dining area.
Both modern and authentic, the kitchen has been renovated in a chic country spirit. The wall paneling has been preserved. Combined with a contemporary glass roof, they make up an elegant decor. Functional, the kitchen has all the equipment to prepare your meals.

This beautiful holiday home takes place in a natural setting ideal for recharging your batteries. To stretch your legs, take a morning walk through the countryside and admire the Monts du Cantal.

To familiarize yourself with the silhouette of the Monts du Cantal, go to the orientation table in Alquier. This observation point, very close to your gîte, will offer you a splendid 360 panorama of the Cantal volcano and will invite you to take to the skies!
To do this, drive up to an altitude of 1231 meters to the Col de Légal. Then, put on your sneakers and go for a hike, bike ride or horseback ride.
Our favorite route? A demanding hike (15 km - 6 hours of walking A/R), but which will leave you with unforgettable memories. Take the GR®400 towards Puy Chavaroche and follow the Route des Crêtes. The view is breathtaking on the peaks of the Cantal massif: the Puy Griou, the Plomb du Cantal, the Puy Mary, the Puy de Peyre Arse and all the surrounding valleys.
In winter, you can explore the 120 hectares of forest in the Col de Légal resort, on snowshoes or cross-country skis. And to comfort you, the small inn, open all year round, will delight you with traditional dishes.
On the way down, stop off at Saint-Projet-de-Salers, a small picturesque mountain village. At a place called "Saint-Georges", go to the pass to contemplate the Cantal mountains and the Bois Noir.
On the way back, a visit to the Château de Saint-Chamant is a must. On a promontory dominating the valley of the Bertrande, the castle presents a beautiful architectural homogeneity with a 15th century keep and an imposing 17th century dwelling. Inside, tapestries from Aubusson and Flanders are exhibited. A walk in the castle park will enhance the visit.
The Château d'Anjony in Tournemire deserves your attention. The castle dominates the valley of the Dora. Built in the 15th century, it is made up of four towers enclosing a square keep. Extend the walk to the small village, classified among the “Most beautiful Villages of France”.
Count a good day to discover Aurillac, the prefecture of Cantal. Located about twenty kilometers from your rental, the French capital of the umbrella has two museums worthy of interest: the Museum of Art and Archeology and the Museum of Volcanoes.
From the shaded banks of the Jordanne, passing by the square, the Saint-Géraud Abbey or even the Saint-Etienne castle, the city center of Aurillac can be discovered on foot. If you come at the end of August,it will surely be to attend the International Street Theater Festival.
After breathing the pure mountain air, traveling back in time by visiting castles, let yourself be tempted by the pleasures of water.
At Lac des Genevrières in Crandelles you can share good times with your family. Its wooded park offers a green setting for picnicking and a playground is equipped for children.
At Lake Saint-Etienne-Cantales, the largest artificial water reservoir in Auvergne, water activities are numerous and suitable for all levels.
Windsurf boards, electric motor boats, pedal boats, canoes, paddles... can be hired on site. Boat launches are provided for fishermen. The Puech des Ouilhes peninsula has a beach for swimming and a path on stilts offering pretty views of the shores of the lake.
