The « Vosges » is known as a French administrative department but also is the name of the mountain which la

ys on 3 regions, namely « Alsace », « Franche Comté » and « Lorraine ».
Some cities are well known, such as Vittel, Contrexéville, Plombieres for their springs and mineral water or Epinal and its very popular images (stencil-colored wood cuts of military subjects, Napoleonic history, storybook characters and other folk themes which were widely distributed through out the 19th century).

Farther East, the « Hautes-Vosges » is a contrasted landscape : glaciers and thousands years of erosion shaped the are a inton arrow valleys surrounded by slopes with prairies and woods.
Our gite « Le grenier du Roc » stands on one of the well exposed (South) slopes, at an altitude of 720m.
It was renovated in the family farm, with the objective of keep ingits charm.

The farm was originally built with local materials : granite, sandstones, fir, oak, etc… and we made sure to use the same materials and same spirit for the renovation.
The eco-friendly approach weused in the renovation and that we use in our day to day operations has been awarded by Clevacances with a quality label in the category « environment ».

The « Grenier du Roc » is a large modular gite which is perfect for families and people looking for a place in contact with nature. Although the gite is quite isolated (first neighbors at 100m), the two biggest stations in the region (La Bresse and Gerardmer) are only away by respectively 14kms and 20 kms. Even closer, you can find Saulxures sur Moselotte lake (leisure center) at approximately 5 kms and other amenities (horse riding center at 3 kms (Droit de Thiefosse), Green Way from Remiremont to Cornimont, etc…).

A lot of smalls cenicroads criss-cross the mountain where farmers, craftsmen and artists are ready to share their passion and knowledgewith you so that you can connect with what the area has to offer.

Finally, a lot of well maintained trails contribute to the reputation of the area in terms of trailwalking or trail running. Their maintenance is primarily perfomed by volunteer swho assist the « Club Vosgien » in its mission of marking and maintaining trails. No wonder, the Club Vosgien was the first French organization dedicated to hikers.

The « Grenier du Roc » is designed to welcome 2 to 12 people thanks to its modularity. A detailed description is available in our website accessible through this Clevacances page. We welcome guests in all seasons for a stay of 1 week minimum. Prices depend on the period : there are 3 different price ranges for school vacation (special price for April school vacation), Christmas/New Eve Holiday season and the rest of the year.
