Description

THE OWNERS. Originally from the Châtaigneraie region, Louis was a literature teacher in Toulouse, while Geneviève taught yoga there. When we retired, we wanted to get away from the city and get closer to nature, so we bought a house in the south of the Cantal that belonged to a family member. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LE GITE. The original building had to undergo major restructuring, and we were then able to carry out our project for an adjoining ecological dwelling. Once we had settled in, we gradually converted the original house, giving priority to the possibility of transforming part of it into a small gîte in keeping with what we stand for: simplicity, choice of healthy materials (right down to the vertical barbecue), solar hot water, dry toilets using a carefully thought-out concept, wood heating, etc. This way, people other than us can enjoy the charms of the region and recharge their batteries in a peaceful setting, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. In the same spirit, there is the possibility of simple and beneficial physical practices, inspired by yoga and the Feldenkrais method.
