You'll also fall under the spell of the 9-hole course, with its massifs of granite and hundred-year-old oaks, and the view over the Mireloup pond and the Mesnil forest that closes it off. 🏰 Heritage treasures to visit - Mont Saint-Michel ⛪ Just 45 minutes away by car, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a must-see. Lose yourself in the medieval streets, visit the thousand-year-old abbey and admire the bay from the ramparts. For an even more memorable experience, cross the bay on foot with a certified guide on an unforgettable hike. - Saint-Malo 🏴‍☠️: The ancient corsair city, just 20 minutes away, will charm you with its imposing ramparts, its sandy beaches and its various districts, which blend the Belle Epoque and the modern. Stroll along the ramparts for a breathtaking view of the sea, explore the cobbled streets of Intra-Muros and visit Chateaubriand's tomb on the island of Grand Bé (at low tide). - Cancale 🦞 This picturesque little port, famous for its oysters, is well worth a visit. Sample freshly caught seafood right on the harbour, admire the view over the bay from the Pointe du Grouin, or stroll through the charming town centre. - Dol-de-Bretagne 🏛️ : This small town full of character is home to the majestic Saint-Samson cathedral and numerous half-timbered houses. Don't miss Mont-Dol, a surprising granite mound offering panoramic views over the bay. 🌊 The Bay and its nautical pleasures - Sand yachting 🏎️: Take advantage of the large stretches of sand at low tide to try your hand at sand yachting. This activity, emblematic of the region, offers thrills and a unique way to discover the coastline. Several schools offer courses for all levels near Saint-Benoît-des-Ondes. - Fishing on foot 🦪: At low tide, the bay is transformed into a veritable treasure trove for fans of fishing on foot. Equipped with boots and a basket, set off in search of cockles, clams, periwinkles and other seafood. Don't forget to ask about tide times and local fishing rules. - Sea outings 🚢: Embark on a boat trip and discover the bay of Cancale or Saint-Malo, or the river Rance. Several companies offer guided cruises so you can see the seals and seabirds that inhabit the region. The Cancale market (Sunday mornings), the Saint-Malo market (Tuesday, Friday and Saturday mornings) and the Dinard market (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings) are particularly renowned for their fresh, local produce. There's also a summer market in Saint-Benoît-des-Ondes on Wednesday evenings. - Oyster tasting 🦪: North Brittany is famous for its oysters, particularly those from Cancale. Be sure to check the tide times before your seaside activities. - Transport 🚌 Although the car is the most practical way of exploring the region, minibuses (on request) regularly serve Saint-Malo and all the towns in the conurbation from Le Tronchet.
