The advantages of the accommodation
Description
Objects, vintage furniture and a cocooning atmosphere, welcome to Hannah's House! This charming cottage for 5 people nestled in the hamlet of Salilhes, in Thiézac, is perfect for a stay with family or friends. In the heart of the Natural Park of the Volcanoes of Auvergne, the environment is privileged and the quality of life. Rest, hike, visit picturesque villages and enjoy the beauty of nature: the program is done, all you have to do is book your vacation! * A holiday home with a garden and a view of the Cantal mountains La Maison d'Hannah occupies a beautiful stone building from 1843, formerly the village presbytery. Now a comfortable gîte, it has retained all of its cachet underlined by a singular and warm decoration where every detail has been thought out by the owner. The renovation has highlighted the original materials, stone walls and wooden beams. On the ground floor, different spaces are organized within the large living room of 45 m². The decoration mixes antique furniture and modern equipment. The open kitchen, arranged around a central island, is functional and pleasant to live in. It has all the necessary equipment (hob, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, etc.) to prepare your meals. The cantou, a large traditional fireplace, has been preserved and houses a pellet stove which will warm the room at the first signs of coolness. A toad armchair sits next to a more contemporary sofa, an old trunk faces the television. The mix of genres breathes a relaxed bohemian spirit into the living room. The convertible sofa provides sleeping accommodation for 1 person. A wooden staircase leads to 2 beautiful bright bedrooms, 13 m² and 16 m² respectively, and a bathroom equipped with a shower with hydro-massage jets. Salvaged objects, braided rugs, colorful wallpapers, the decoration of the rooms is poetic and lively. And above all, comfort is key. From the bedrooms, equipped with a double bed (140 cm), the splendid view of the countryside invites contemplation. If you come on vacation with a baby, a kit will be made available to you and the stairs will be secured with a barrier. An extra bed can be lent, on request, for a sixth bed. La Maison d'Hannah has a large garden in which you will enjoy tasting good grilled meats, strolling in the sun or observing the mountains. Garden furniture, deckchairs, barbecue, and even a pair of binoculars will be at your disposal. A storage room can accommodate your bikes. * Recharge your batteries and fill up on nature in the Cantal Carladès Waterfalls, valleys, forests, large natural spaces, typical villages and castles: many sites are to be discovered in the Cantal Carladès. Let yourself be guided, we give you here some ideas for walks to do as a couple, with family or friends. From Thiézac, 4 short walks, accessible to all, will allow you to discover the nature and the architectural heritage of the town. Very close to your gîte, the round of Salilhes is a pretty route starting from the hamlet of the same name. The route takes place mainly in the forest and is punctuated by summer meadows offering beautiful landscape views. The Pas de Cère site is one of the great discoveries to be made. This unique place, made up of gorges formed more than 20,000 years ago, is part of the Sensitive Natural Areas of Cantal. It is one of the major geological sites of the department. You will access the gorges of the Cère by a landscaped path. One of the courses, in the undergrowth, runs along the river to access the Cascade de la Roucolle. Another easier variant is from the Pas de Cère area on the RN 122. You will reach the belvedere overlooking the Roucolle waterfall in 5 minutes. Le Chaos de Casteltinet is a 7 km hiking trail in the town of Thiézac. It will take you to a surprising site located in the heart of the Cère glacial valley. Huge boulders, the result of the decompression of rocks and the infiltration of water in their cracks, compose unusual shapes. One of them forms a stone arch nicknamed "the Lion's Gate". Still in Thiézac, a hike leads to the Faillitoux waterfall at 1,020 meters above sea level. Its waterfall of more than 40 meters flows along a large basaltic lava flow. Throughout the trail, you will find explanatory panels of volcanic activity. The Cantal massif, the volcanic mountain which brings together the highest peaks of the department, can be discovered on foot, on horseback or by bike. The famous GR®400 goes around the Cantal volcano. One of its stages, reserved for seasoned walkers, crosses Thiézac. The Plomb du Cantal, 1,855 meters, is the highest point of the Cantal mountains. It forms the ridge line between the Cère, Alagnon and Brezons valleys. You can reach its summit by cable car from the Lioran resort or on foot via a hiking trail. The 360° panoramic view of the Cantal massif, Cézallier, Sancy, Aubrac and Margeride is breathtaking. Once there, why not take advantage of the Lioran's infrastructure? Winter and summer, the resort offers outdoor activities for all tastes and all levels: skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, summer tobogganing, paragliding... Puy Griou and Puy Mary, classified as a Grand Site de France, are among the high peaks of the Cantal massif. Here again, beautiful hikes allow you to appreciate magnificent wild and green landscapes. During your stay, you will pass by many castles. The Château de Pesteil, in Polminhac, built in the 13th century, is a remarkable testimony to the medieval period. The Château de Messilhac, in Raulhac, is a unique example of the French Renaissance in Cantal. Let yourself be tempted by a visit, it's always exciting to immerse yourself in a piece of history! You can discover the architectural heritage of Cantal by strolling through the narrow streets of the medieval towns of Vic-sur-Cère (6 km from your vacation rental), Murat (24 km) or Salers (50 km). And don't forget to bring back the flavors of Cantal in your luggage: cheeses, charcuterie, meat from Salers, honey, jams. Local products can be enjoyed in restaurants, markets or directly from producers.
