In the heart of Lot-et-Garonne, the Lot Valley Séchoir à Tabac (tobacco drying shed) will offer you the most original and unforgettable of stays for a totally relaxing break. A spacious 40m² guest room has been fitted out under the rafters and at sunset you will have the impression of going to sleep in a wooden cathedral in the middle of the countryside. At meal times you will find it difficult to resist the temptation of the regional cuisine served by Sylvie your host. You will succumb to the pleasures of the foie gras and prunes she lovingly prepares. Don’t miss the fortified medieval towns scattered all along the valley. HERITAGE - Bastides: built in the 13th and 14th centuries, they still reveal some fine remains today: regular layout, remains of the surrounding wall, squares surrounded by corbels and sometimes with a fine market hall, corbelled houses, etc. They remain models of architecture that sparkle on market days (Le Temple-sur-Lot, Laparade, Monclar, Saint-Pastour, etc.). - The Latour-Marliac water lily garden in Le Temple-sur-Lot. The creator and supplier of Claude MONET's water lilies in 1894, it houses the national water lily collection and is the oldest water lily nursery in the world. WATER-BASED ACTIVITIES, WALKS AND LEISURE ACTIVITIES... - In Castelmoron-sur-Lot, the beach on the Lot, the Nautilius water sports centre (bike hire, motorboats, rowing boats, etc.), cruises on the Lot from Port Lalande. The Barthe golf course at Tombebœuf, equestrian centres (at Brugnac, Pinel-Hauterive, Labretonie...) for horse-riding in the heart of nature... - Ranging from 1.8 to 21 km in length, these trails are a great way to discover the area between the valleys and hillsides. The GR 654 Santiago de Compostela trail also crosses our countryside. - The Véloroute de la Vallée du Lot runs through the villages of Castelmoron-sur-Lot and Laparade, and the voie verte links Villeneuve-sur-Lot to Le Temple-sur-Lot. Visit the Chaudron magique in Brugnac (a discovery farm where you can learn how to make your own bread and cheese, milk a goat and bottle-feed the kids).
