A gîte for fishermen in the Haut Cantal An old farmhouse You have the opportunity to spend a memorable stay in the Haut Cantal by putting down your suitcases in our holiday rental. It's a former farmhouse in Ydes with a surface area of 80 m2, which can comfortably accommodate up to 4 people. The first floor has two bedrooms, the first with a 140cm bed, the second with 2 90cm beds, as well as a mezzanine, a sitting area and a bathroom. In addition to these rooms, there is an outbuilding that houses a very large games room. Inside you'll find a table tennis table, table football and play areas for younger children, including a library and a child-friendly kitchen. Parents staying with young children will find everything they need (cot, high chair, etc.). Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in this holiday home. A private pond in the heart of the garden Outside, you'll enjoy a large green space of 1,200 m2, including an enclosed, secure garden of 300 m2. You're free to relax there, lying back on one of our deckchairs, and perhaps take in some beautiful colours when the sun is out. With our barbecue, you'll also be tempted to concoct some tasty dishes to enjoy in the garden furniture. To top it all off, this former farmhouse for rent has its own pond, where our guests can enjoy a spot of fishing. All in all, this is a real fishing gîte for travellers staying in the Haut Cantal. Places to see around our holiday home: the Jardin Délirant, the Château de Val, the Gorges de la Rhue... Of course, the strength of our accommodation also lies in the diversity of places of interest that surround it. Are you one of those people who can't spend a weekend or a holiday without discovering some historic buildings? Take a look at the church of Saint-Georges in Ydes-Bourg, a landmark of Romanesque art in Auvergne, with its beautifully sculpted altar. The same place of worship is also home to the Trésor d'Art Sacré du Pays de Sumène, a must-see for any visitor. During your stay, don't hesitate to visit Château d'Auzer and Château de Val, two fortresses that are definitely worth a visit! You'll also be able to marvel at natural sites that you won't have seen anywhere else, such as the belvedere at Saint-Nazaire and its breathtaking views over the Dordogne and Diège gorges, and the basalt organs at Bort. The Gorges de la Rhue also come to mind, where a particularly rich flora thrives. Another original activity that we suggest to our guests is a visit to the Jardin Délirant in Bassignac, a green space that lives up to its name! Kayaking, mountain biking and cross-country skiing less than half an hour from our rental accommodation Don't be fooled by the relaxing setting of our property, which helps to make it a truly exceptional place to stay. The surrounding area is full of fun and enriching activities, just like the most dynamic tourist destinations. To keep yourself busy for half a day or a whole day, head for Lac de Lastiouilles, 20 minutes east of Ydes. It's literally a paradise for canoeists, kayakers, pedalos and windsurfers... On land, of course, there are plenty of ways to get away from it all. While some take to the Sumène Artense hiking trails, others take advantage of the green mountain bike route linking Cheyssac to Parensol, which passes through our commune. If you come with your own bikes, you can store them at our address, in a dedicated room. We also suggest a trip to the Ferme Equestre de Montassou, where riding lessons are available at various levels. Finally, less than half an hour away is the Falgoux ski resort, a leisure centre nestling in a truly majestic setting. Every winter, it attracts tobogganing, cross-country skiing and snowshoe trekking enthusiasts.
