Family chalet, regularly maintained and renovated. We rent out the main flat on the first and second floors. Please note that the ground floor flat is not rented. We are keeping it for our holidays and it may be occupied during your stay. At the rear of the chalet, garden, picnic table, barbecue, closed ski storage area. Deckchairs available. WHAT KIND OF HOLIDAY WILL YOU HAVE WITH US? Our chalet is located on the heights of Lac de Matemale, in the heart of the Capcir, an open plateau with small villages, pastures, a magnificent forest and, opposite, the large Les ANGLES ski resort. On site, you'll find peace and quiet, sunshine and fresh air to relax in, and you can go for walks directly from the chalet. Within a radius of no more than 20 km, you'll find a host of activities: - family walks to the BOUILLOUSES site, the CAMPOREILS ponds and the Galbe valley, - more sporty hikes to the Pic du CARLIT, which rises to 2921 m, and the CARANÇA valley, - cycling, running, and every year at the beginning of July, the lake at Matemale hosts the ALTRIMAN, the triathlon of the Pyrenees, - activities at the lake's watersports centre, including paddle-boarding, pedal-boating, swimming and lounging, - fishing in the high mountain lakes, - skiing, with several resorts nearby: LES ANGLES at 7 km, Formiguères at 10 km, FONT ROMEU at 18 km, Espace Cambre d'Aze at 14 km, or the small resort of La Quillane at 3 km. - Nordic skiing at Col de la Quillane and Col de la Llose - And in both summer and winter, don't forget your swimming costume, so you can relax in the outdoor baths, with their natural hot springs. Our favourites are those at SAINT THOMAS LES BAINS, but there are also those at Dorres, Llo and the Angléo area at Les Angles! You can also take advantage of your stay to visit Puigcerda in Spain (31 km) or the Pas de La Case in Andorra (63 km). Or take the Train Jaune, the emblematic train, a regular service with the nearest station at Mont Louis La Cabanasse (10 km), to discover the Catalan massifs at 30 km/h, with 19 tunnels and 2 exceptional bridges listed as historic monuments.
