Having finished my business, I'm now ready to give up my time to welcome travellers wishing to visit Aveyron. My gîte, l'Oustal dé Jacquou, which has kept its name for over 100 years, has been renovated three times in the last thirty years. The renovations have been carried out in the spirit of a country house to which, over the years, we have added more comfort and a decoration that makes it unique. The house is located in the Occitanie region, 50km below Rodez, in the Ségala, a region that was essentially agricultural in the last century. Rye, the cereal that gave the region its name, was grown here. Things have changed a lot since then, and the farmers have become breeders who produce top-quality, quality-labelled meats, which you can find in the producers' house in La Salvetat or the 2 butchers' shops and supermarkets in Rieupeyroux. There's a lot to discover in Aveyron, and the tourist offices in every little town will help you get there. Don't forget that the roads here are smaller than elsewhere, that you'll have to rely on your car to get around, and that everywhere along the way you'll find beautiful scenery and small restaurants where you can enjoy good local cuisine that's accessible to all.
