Fécamp: 1 minute's walk from our house and you're on the beach. Fécamp is the former capital of Terre Neuvas, and many of its houses were once fishermen's cottages. This was the case with ours. A 5-minute walk will take you to the Benedictine Palace, built in the 19th century for Alexandre Legrand. It is still the only place in the world where the famous liqueur made from 27 plants and spices is produced. You will then continue on to the town centre and its many shops. Unless, of course, you'd prefer to head for the harbour, to soak up the atmosphere of the sea. For the more adventurous, take a walk (or an easier drive) up to Cap Fagnet and visit the nearby chapel of Notre-Dame du Salut. In the mood for chocolate? Just a few kilometres from the town centre is the Musée du Chocolat. Nearby Etretat: the sublime scenery of the cliffs and the needle, the Clos Lupin (Maurice Leblanc's former home), its covered market, golf course and hiking trails. Le Havre: a UNESCO World Heritage site, the town centre was rebuilt by the architect Perret, where you can visit a show flat and enter the impressive St Joseph's church, with its central tower filled with light and coloured by small stained-glass windows. The MUMA museum, located near the port and seafront, allows you to discover the works of famous painters such as Boudin, Monet, Sisley and Pissaro. The Côte d'Albâtre: from Fécamp, explore the Côte d'Albâtre on foot, on footpaths, by bike or by car. Les Petites and Grandes Dalles are small seaside resorts nestling in the heart of the greenery that are a must-see! In Sassetot-le-Mauconduit you can visit the Musée des Croyances, a rather strange place, full of legends and witchcraft... The château welcomes you for a gourmet meal, as do the other restaurants in Sassetot and Valmont... Continue on to Veulettes-sur-Mer and the largest beach in Seine-Maritime, Saint-Valéry-en-Caux... The Pays de Caux: Visit the interior of the region, including Montiviilers Abbey near Le Havre, Valasse Abbey in Gruchet-le-Valasse, the Atelier musée textile in Bolbec, the Manoir du Catel in Ecretteville...
