Le Havre will surprise you with its contrasts: a bit of the old, a lot of the new, and the city is very dynamic. Take a stroll through the city centre, listed as a World Heritage Site for its modern architecture, the centre rebuilt by Perret, with the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville and its surroundings. Don't miss a visit to the Perret show flat - it's like stepping back in time! And enter St Joseph's church, impressive with its central tower illuminated by small, colourful stained glass windows. It's not all modern, though, with the Maison de l'Armateur (18th century) and Notre-Dame Cathedral (partly 16th century)... _ Take a boat trip to discover part of the port of Le Havre, France's second-largest port, before strolling along the seafront with its villas in Sainte-Adresse. Do you prefer Impressionist paintings? Then the Muma is the ideal place to discover the works of Boudin, Monet, Sisley, Pissarro... Or simply take the time to stroll around the Place des Halles and its food shops, or the Docks Vauban with its many fashion boutiques, cinema... A little warm, you have the Bains des Docks swimming pool designed by the architect Jean Nouvel with lots of activities. _ A few kilometres from Le Havre, visit Montivilliers Abbey and its Cœur d'Abbayes trail. Then, if you go the other way, cross the Pont de Normandie and in less than 30 minutes you'll be in Honfleur. Etretat: 24 km from our accommodation. The majestic white chalk cliffs of Etretat have become a mecca for French tourists. But Etretat is also a renowned seaside resort. Explore the seaside resort with its many villas, where artists have lived: Guy de Maupassant (La Guillette - privately owned), Maurice Leblanc's Clos Arsène Lupin which you can visit__...__ Stroll along the beach, climb the cliff at __Amont__ to the Notre-Dame de la Garde chapel, the monument dedicated to Nungesser and Coli who attempted to cross the Atlantic in 1927 aboard the __Oiseau blanc, continue your walk to the __aiguille de Belval__ or the cliff at __Aval__ with its great arch, its needle and, further on, the Manneporte__...So many breathtaking landscapes that Monet was inspired by. _ With the kids, take the train from Etretat station to Les Loges and cycle back down on a rail-bike - pedal hard and you'll have a great time! And close to the town centre, in the hills above the Valaine Farm, spend some time with the goats before sampling the specialities. _
