St Valéry en Caux: This is where our holiday rental is located. Just 2 hours from Paris by car, you will enjoy the port and its shops, the historic district of Saint Léger, with the Maison Henry IV, the very pretty chapel entirely glazed in blue. When the sea retreats, it gives way to sandy beaches ideal for fishing and other activities (sailing, kayaking, etc.). This is a city, and everything can be done on foot. Along the harbour, take a trip out to sea and discover the colourful early produce market on Friday mornings. Take the opportunity to follow the GR21 hiking trail "Falaises et Valleuses du Pays de Caux". The village of Veules les Roses, one of the most beautiful in Normandy, is just 10 minutes from our house. Discover the circuit of the smallest river in France, punctuated by watercress beds, thatched cottages and mills. This jewel is preserved in a lush green setting. Enter the heart of the verdant Pays de Caux, discover the Au fil des Saisons farm in Amfreville-les-Champs and the history of flax, Doudeville and its flax crossroads, push open the gates of the Château du Mesnil-Geoffroy and its superb rose garden in Ermenouville, Follow the Durdent valley with its market gardens and mills, go to the Cany Barville market on Monday mornings, have lunch on the sea wall at Veulettes-sur-Mer, facing the sea, before taking a stroll along the longest beach in Seine-Maritime. If you fancy a bit of action, the Lac de Caniel and its various activities will delight your children. Dieppe: Maritime atmosphere guaranteed. Our beautiful Normandy house is 30 minutes from Dieppe. The fishing port of Dieppe is very well known as it is the leading French port for scallops, which you can of course sample in many restaurants in autumn and winter. Beach, harbours, seafront, cliffs, vast and magnificent spaces with multiple reflections, right in front of you: The English Channel. Normandy is a land of gardens. Le Bois des Moutiers and its superb park of azaleas and rhododendrons, Shamrock and its hydrangeas, the gardens of Vastérival, all at Varengeville-sur-Mer - don't forget to make a detour to the church of St Valery overlooking the sea and its marine cemetery, the gardens of Offranville, the vegetable garden of the Château de Miromesnil at Tourville-sur-Arques... And why not take a first flight? You can do so at the Saint Sylvain airfield. Golf lovers will also be delighted. A wide range of sporting activities and safe cycling tours. Fécamp, Etretat and Le Havre are also not far away and can be reached in a day from our rental accommodation. Rouen is 1 hour's drive away.
