What is a meublé de tourisme?
Meublés de tourisme are furnished houses, flats or studios, for the exclusive use of the tenant, offered for rent to a visiting clientele who stay there on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, and who do not take up residence there. Please note that unusual accommodation and bed and breakfasts cannot be classified.
What is ranking?
The purpose of the classification, which is voluntary and non-mandatory, is to inform your customers about the level of comfort and service of rental accommodation ranging from 1 to 5 stars on the basis of classification criteria.
Rating encourages you to constantly optimise your accommodation. By aiming to meet the required criteria, you make your property more attractive and competitive in the holiday rental market.
What is the procedure to follow?
1. You must declare your tourist accommodation to the town hall in the commune where it is located (CERFA 14004).
2. After contacting us, a Clévacances advisor will carry out a visit to your accommodation.
3. It assesses the 133 checkpoints in the grading grid, divided into 3 categories:
- Equipment and facilities
- Customer services
- Accessibility and sustainable development
4. The Clévacances advisor notifies you of the star classification decision.
