The two departments that make up the historic Nord-Pas-de-Calais region are packed with places to visit! When you stay in Lille, you won't know which way to turn as there are so many tourist attractions to choose from. A stroll through the historic centre will leave you breathless, as will lunch near the Grande Place. You'll be spoilt for choice! If you're just looking for some colour and a relaxing break, plant your parasol in one of the seaside resorts on the Côte d'Opale. This département also boasts a remarkable historical heritage. Its finest jewels are the crypt of the Basilica of Notre-Dame in Boulogne and the church of Notre-Dame in Calais, which are sure to hold some architectural surprises in store for you. You and the kids can also enjoy a visit to the Nausicaa Aquarium in Boulogne-sur-Mer (Boulogne-sur-Mer). The Pas-de-Calais also promises some great culinary experiences. The Provençals have their bouillabaisse, while the Chtis' have their caudière, a delicious fish soup.
