Find your bed and breakfast in Rhône-Alpes and enjoy a region where nature has retained a predominant place, particularly in Isère , Haute-Savoie and Savoie ! During your stay in the Rhône , Ain or Ardèche , feast on the best culinary specialities and have fun like children in the Loire or Drôme .
The Rhône-Alpes region boasts a uniquely rich natural heritage, with a succession of snow-capped peaks, majestic lakes and forests of exceptional biodiversity. Its departments also showcase their historical heritage, including remarkable châteaux and famous Catholic buildings.
The most populous commune in the Rhône-Alpes region, Lyon has some great discoveries in store for you, including a breathtaking panorama in front of the Notre-Dame de Fourvière Basilica. Continue your visit to the capital of the Gauls by going to the Parc de la Tête d'Or, which has the advantage of housing a free zoo! Near Lyon is the Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Décines-Charpieu, built for the European football championship held in France in 2016. It hosts matches for Olympique Lyonnais, one of the major Ligue 1 clubs. Between two activities, enjoy a meal at a bouchon, a typical establishment where you can taste the mythical quenelles, for example.
In the Ain, there are several monuments that leave no tourist unmoved. These include the Monastère Royal de Brou in Bourg-en-Bresse and the medieval town of Pérouges. Children are not forgotten: they can enjoy canoeing in Pont d'Ain and discover the accrobranche course in Saint-Etienne-du-Bois.
If you want to admire some picture-postcard scenery, head to the Ardèche! Its gorges are awe-inspiring for young and old alike, but other sights attract crowds like the Safari de Peaugres, quite simply the largest animal park in the region. The département also boasts a remarkable historical heritage, epitomised by grand châteaux such as the Vogüé and the Ventadour fortress at Meyras. Its cuisine satisfies the most discerning palates, especially those who love chestnuts.
Your bed and breakfast in Rhône-Alpes may be located in the Drôme, in Valence or Montélimar. It's popular for its rejuvenating calm and boasts a number of remarkable museums, including the Cité du Chocolat, the European Fighter Aircraft Museum and a key place for remembrance work, the Musée de la Résistance.
A stay in Isère also remains an enriching experience in more ways than one. The Parc naturel régional du Vercors offers a sumptuous playground for thrill-seekers. To observe the forests, lakes and rivers, there's nothing better than a hot-air balloon or paragliding flight near Vienne.
Savoie and Haute-Savoie, meanwhile, are international tourist attractions thanks to their major ski resorts, Tignes, Val Thorens and Méribel to name but a few. Here you can enjoy generous dishes such as Savoyard fondue and raclette, and why not a slice of Saint-Génix for dessert.
The Loire is another département in this beautiful Rhône-Alpes region. Among the must-see visits, we recommend the Planetarium de Saint-Etienne, the Château d'Essalois and the Château de Bouthéon.
