For your next holiday in the Vendée, take advantage of a Clévacances bed and breakfast and set off to discover the Ile d'Yeu. L'Île-d'Yeu created its own brand "Les Produits de l'Île d'Yeu" in 2012. The aim of this brand is to highlight and promote the work of the people of Yeu Island. On the island, the Port-Joinville market and the Saint-Sauveur market, in July and August only, are not to be missed during your stay! These markets bring together all the island's local producers and offer you only the best products. Yeu Island can be reached by sea or by air. The ports of embarkation are located at Fromentine, in the commune of La Barre de Monts, and at Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. However, the latter is only open during the summer months. Two companies offer these crossings, Compagnie Vendéenne and Yeu Compagnie. The crossing by sea takes around 35 minutes. To get there by air, the journey takes around 10 minutes with OYA Vendée Hélicoptères. There's so much to do! Discover Île-d'Yeu and stay in one of our many guest rooms for a relaxing holiday.
Staying in a guest room on Île d'Yeu gives you the chance to visit the Pierre Levée fort, the old castle and the large lighthouse. A variety of water sports are available on the island, including paddle boarding, sand yachting, sailing, kite surfing and kayaking. You can discover the island in a variety of ways: by bike, by tuk-tuk, on hikes, by hiring vintage vehicles such as a 2CV or a Mehari, or on horseback. You can also take a helicopter tour of the island to see it from a different angle. The island also has culinary traditions such as the fion at Easter and the Mérisses during Mardi Gras. You can also sample a number of specialities all year round, including prune tart, betchets, boudin aux prunes, pâté de thon, smoked tuna, shellfish, spider salad and fricot en fou. Make the most of your stay in the Vendée, in a Clévacances B&B, to bring back some of these specialities as a souvenir. And if you don't have the patience to wait until you're back from holiday to enjoy all these specialities, you can always enjoy them around a table in your guest room! For your next stay on the Atlantic coast, take advantage of Clévacances accommodation and set off to discover the Île-d'Yeu and all its riches!
