Post-hike : relaxation and treats

After a day's walking, there's nothing like a moment of relaxation in one of the many natural thermal baths in the Pyrenees, such as those in Cauterets or Bagnères-de-Bigorre. To recharge your batteries, try a steaming garbure, a mature sheep's cheese or a gâteau à la broche (spit-roasted cake), an essential Pyrenean speciality.

Must-see sites include :
The Cirque de Gavarnie, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its spectacular natural wall and 423-metre waterfall, the highest in France.
The Pic du Midi de Bigorre, accessible after an unforgettable ascent, offering a 360° panoramic view of the entire Pyrenean mountain range.
The Lac de Gaube, a high altitude jewel with deep blue waters, nestling in a mountain setting.
