1 - Identifying a scam
The aim of an attempted scam is to take money and/or personal information from you. Although the methods vary, there are common points in each of these methods:
- The fraudster does not want to book online
- He/she claims to have paid the balance and invites you to recover it by contacting a third party
- Sends a false document by email or SMS certifying payment
- Sends a copy of an identity card or passport
If several of these elements appear in the booking request, BEWARE!
We invite you to check whether the scam has been identified on Signal Arnaques (by searching by email, name or telephone number) and in the "Scams" tab on the www.clevacances.com website
Discover all the scams already listed
If this is the case, we advise you:
- Not to follow up the messages / reminders
- To cancel the booking so that the dates can be released
- To activate the online booking
2 - The choice of payment method
As part of a live booking, we remind you that it is up to you to choose how you wish to be paid. It is not up to the traveller to impose a method of payment.
3 - I've been the victim of a scam, what should I do?
I check the transactions on my bank account and immediately inform my bank if a transaction is not my fault. I file a complaint at the police station or online via the THESEE platform.
4 - For total security: activate online booking
Online booking avoids scam attempts, as travellers pay for their holiday online, via a secure payment system. It's the simplest and most effective way of renting and getting paid in complete security.
