No more excuses for not having a holiday in Cantal! COTTAGE WITH FENCED GARDEN IN LABROUSSE The 84 m2 gîte L'atelier can accommodate 6 people in a quiet environment, in the countryside. This holiday rental is almost on one level since only half a level separates the kitchen from the living room. It has the particularity of being very bright due to its many windows. When you cross the threshold, you will discover a warm and well-ordered interior. In the center of the living room, sits a comfortable sofa, facing the TV. The independent kitchen is equipped with hotplates, an oven, a freezer, a dishwasher and a real dining area, as practical as it is pleasant. The bathroom is equipped with a shower cubicle. You will also have a washing machine and a dryer. Bathroom linen is provided. Two bedrooms have a double bed (140 cm) and the third bedroom has 2 single beds (90 cm). For your comfort, the beds are made upon your arrival. If you come on holiday with a young child, a baby kit will be provided free of charge (high chair, stroller, bath, cot). You can take your meals outside on the furnished terrace, with garden furniture and barbecue, and enjoy, in peace, the green garden that surrounds the house. In the village of Labrousse, next to your vacation rental, the Ecomuseum of Earth and Men evokes rural life before mechanization. In this former stable barn, you will discover the work of the land, milking, milk processing and bread making. Open only in summer. The hike, Les Travers de Labrousse, departing from the village, will lead you into the bocage through small paths. The route offers beautiful views of the Cantal massif. Allow 2 hours to complete this loop of approximately 7 km. Hiking trails, in the mountains or in the forest, are not lacking in Cantal. Less than an hour from your vacation rental, you can explore the marked trails of the Monts du Cantal, on foot or by mountain bike. By climbing the Plomb du Cantal, on foot or by cable car, the highest point in the department at 1,855 meters, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Cantal volcano. Going down, you will be at the heart of the Lioran resort: summer and winter, many outdoor activities are offered. If you want to extend your discovery of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park, you can go to Pas de Peyrol. At the Maison de site du Pas de Peyrol you can get a lot of information on volcanism, local flora and fauna. Then you can climb to the top of Puy Mary, classified as a Grand Site de France. During the summer period, if you want to cool off, take the direction of the Gorges de la Jordanne, a discovery trail is laid out there within a preserved natural setting. The Saint-Étienne-Cantalès lake allows you to indulge in nautical activities (swimming, motor boats, pedal boats, canoes, paddles). The lake is also famous for fishing. Another possibility for having fun in the water is to go to the Vieillevie canoe-kayak base, in the splendid setting of the Lot valley. Why not take advantage of your trip to Vieillevie to visit the castle? Another wealth of Cantal is its built heritage. During your holidays, you can make many heritage visits: the hardest part will be choosing! Aurillac, the prefectural city, is backed by the Cantal mountains. It is located 15 km from your accommodation. Its historic center can be explored on foot: banks of the Jordanne, gardens, mansions , the Abbey of Saint-Géraud, the medieval castle of Saint-Etienne… The city's museums, Museum of Art and Archeology and the Museum of Volcanoes, provide a better understanding of the natural and human history of Cantal. At the end of August, the city hosts the International Festival of Street Arts, an event not to be missed! All around your vacation rental, charming villages invite you to stroll.
