Come and relax with your family or friends in complete safety on these 45 km of greenways designed for the pleasures of walking, cycling, horse-riding or rollerblading. Our beautiful Normandy gîte is 46 minutes from Dieppe. The fishing port of Dieppe is very well known as it is the leading French port for scallops, which you can of course sample in many restaurants in autumn and winter. Beach, harbours, seafront, cliffs, vast and magnificent spaces with multiple reflections, right in front of you: The English Channel. Stroll along the Quai Henri IV, with its many colourful facades, along the harbour, and take a trip out to sea to discover the town and the Côte d'Albâtre, or discover Dieppe on board the little train. Enter the heart of the town with the Ste Catherine district of light-coloured brick houses, the St Jacques church with its frieze of savages inside, the Grande rue and its many shops, and its Saturday morning market. As well as the Musée de l'Estran, the Cité de la mer (great for children, they can stroke the stingrays), the Bains, the aquatic centre and its wellness area, climb up to the Château Musée de Dieppe and its incredible collection of carved ivories. Or take a stroll around Le Pollet, with its fishermen's cottages. Normandy is a land of gardens. Le Bois des Moutiers and its superb park of azaleas and rhododendrons, Shamrock and its hydrangeas, the gardens of Vastérival, all in Varengeville-sur-Mer - don't forget to make a detour to the church of St Valery overlooking the sea and its marine cemetery, the gardens of Offranville, the kitchen garden of Château de Miromesnil in Tourville-sur-Arques... Pays de Bray: This is where our holiday rental is located, in a haven of peace. Hiking trails start from the gîte in the commune of Ste Geneviève-en-Bray. In the heart of the Pays de Bray button-hole, the rolling green countryside alternates between pastures and fields, where Norman cows graze peacefully, producing milk for Neufchâtel cheese. Many cider farms offer tastings of cider and Calvados. Neufchâtel-en-Bray, 7 km away, with its Notre-Dame church, Mathon-Durand museum, nearby Mesnières en Bray castle and the Avenue Verte for peaceful walks. Forges-les-Eaux, 6 km away, with its flower-filled town centre, casino, springs and museums, welcomes you. Take a stroll through the sculpture garden at Château de Bois-Guilbert, where artist Jean-Marc De Pas has some of his work on display. Don't miss the Buchy market on Monday mornings. Continue on to the charming little town of St Saëns and its golf course. From there, you can visit the Agapanthes gardens in Grigneuseville and the Bellevue garden (hellebores) in Beaumont-le-Hareng. For children, the Clères park and its animals and the Bocasse park are great fun, or further north, at Muchedent, discover the bison. For those with a passion for the history of the Second World War, head to Ardouval, to the Val Ygot site, where the V1s were launched.
