Description
A house of character at the source of the Aveyron, close to the A75, situated in the heart of the château, this house offers an exceptional view of the countryside. Ground floor: kitchen, living room, television, sofa and WC. First floor: large bedroom, bathroom and washing machine. There is also a children's play area. Library. There is a bicycle shed. One tenant pointed out that there is a secure well in the kitchen (depth: 3.40 m with 1.60 m of water). There are wells in every house in the Old Town. The garden with its aromatic plants, barbecue, garden furniture, view of the Cambuzelle, the valley of the sources of the Aveyron and the Puech d'Agudet topped by the chapel built by the Duke of Arpajon. Relax in the shade of this ancient pear tree, then visit the old town, with its vaulted passageways, calades, archaeological museum and Roman fountain. Of course, you'll want to go up to the castle, just 2 steps away! Unless you'd rather go down to the Clos des légendes. There, you'll see the Duc d'Arpajon speeding towards his beloved Gloriande, the horned sorcerer, the cat delicately walking on the crest of the walls, the Rouergat lion, or the Chamber of Mysteries. Close to shops and services. Admire the landscapes of the Aveyron valley, hike from the chapel of Lorette to the sources of the Aveyron. Lake CISBA, circuit of vaulted fountains, dolmens. Information at the gîte itself and at the Tourist Office. Visits: in the town: castle (free self-guided tour, or guided tour with charge depending on the season), consuls' house, Jeanne's house, Sestayral (grain market), archaeological museum, etc. Nearby: sources of the Aveyron and Viaur rivers, Lorette chapel, Millau viaduct, Roquefort caves, Tarn gorges, Rodez and the Soulages museum, Aubrac, Conques... We converted this barn into a holiday home to enjoy nature with our children. They've grown up and moved away from the cosy nest where we used to live. So why not let other people enjoy it too, so that they can recharge their batteries in a peaceful environment close to all the services they need? That's how we propose our holiday home.
