The "Gite Azalée et Pimprenelle" is located in Jenzat in the Allier region of the Auvergne, 200 metres from the Sioule river and around twenty kilometres from the beautiful spa town of Vichy. The Sioule is a river renowned for its fishing; the gîte is located in a category 2 area, but category 1 is only 3 km upstream. For relaxation, there is a small grassy beach just 1 km from the gîte. We can lend you bicycles (various sizes, please ask when booking, or on site). Activities such as canoeing and paddling are available 18 km away, in Ebreuil or Saint Pourçain sur Sioule. The gîte can be rented in its entirety, or the "Azalée" room, which has its own bathroom, can be rented on its own as a bed and breakfast by the night. Please contact us for details. The gîte can be rented out for short stays, with daily arrival possible and reduced rates from the 5th night onwards. This 100m² gîte can accommodate 4 people (or even 6 with the sofa bed). On the ground floor there is a large entrance hall, a large living room of over 40m² with an open-plan kitchen, a shower room with a large walk-in shower and a separate toilet. Upstairs (secure staircase with child safety gates): a 1st bedroom of 15m² with a 140x190cm bed. Then a suite comprising a 17.70 m² bedroom (with 2 beds 90 x 190, combinable into 180), a study area and a 3.40 m² bathroom/WC. Pellet stove and electric dry inertia radiators. No Wi-Fi, no dishwasher, no tumble dryer, but the peace and quiet, the greenery... The 17 m² terrace and 1000 m² grounds will let you enjoy the surrounding countryside. Nearby: signposted hiking and cycling trails. For exploring: Paléopolis (10 km), Chantelle and the Bouble gorges 12 km away, Fleuriel and its museum of the peasant soldier 17 km away, the Sioule gorges 18 km away, Saint Pourçain sur Sioule and its vineyards 19 km away, Vichy UNESCO-listed spa 21 km away, Moulins sur Allier 50 km away, Clermont-Fd 50 km away, Le Pal or Vulcania 60 km away.... but also pretty villages with character (Charroux, Bellenaves...), sporting activities (horse-riding, canoeing, vélorail...) etc!
