Description
Hello and welcome to the Hérault, enjoy your stay in the south of France, halfway between the Camargue and the Cévennes, close to Montpellier and Nîmes. This historic accommodation is just a few kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea, natural bathing areas (Vidourle, Hérault Gorges or Gardon Gorges) and special places to visit: the medieval town of Sommières, the Bamboo Grove at Anduze, the Cévennes steam train, Uzès, the Pont du Gard, the Aigues Mortes saltworks, etc. The gîte can accommodate up to 8 people and is made up of several flats linked by an inner courtyard secured by a digital entry code. The 90m² medieval winegrower's house, accessible by an outside staircase, is housed in the old 13th-century ramparts and is full of charm, very calm and cool. Completely renovated, it can accommodate 6 people and offers the charm of the past with all the modern conveniences: WIFI, reversible air conditioning, private adjoining terrace of approx. 25 m², gas hob, fully-equipped kitchen (fridge, dishwasher, microwave, electric oven, kettle, coffee machine, etc.). The lounge/dining room has a large sofa, a digital TV, a DVD player, a games area for the little ones, a cupboard with DVDs and board games for the whole family to play together. A large dining table seats 10 comfortably, and the 30s china cabinet and 13th-century fireplace complete this lovely room for socialising. Sleeping accommodation comprises: a 20m² master bedroom with a 140x190 bed (+ cot with baby mattress if required), a second 12m² bedroom with 90x190 bunk beds and a third 10m² bedroom with 90x190 bunk beds. The independent 25m² studio is nestled inside the rampart and can sleep 2 people in a 140x190 double bed, with the option of a 90x190 bunk bed for a child if required. It has its own shower room (shower and washbasin), WC, desk and kitchenette with mini-fridge, sink, kettle and coffee machine. The 12 m² wooden cabin with an adjoining 8 m² terrace perched at 3 metres, accessible by a miller's ladder. Equipped with bunk beds and a cosy sofa, it's the ideal place for teenagers looking for peace and quiet, to read and enjoy a cocooning atmosphere. The giant slide (minimum age 8, with parental supervision) will allow you to quickly reconnect with the rest of the building. The 50m² courtyard (patio) links the winegrower's house (first floor), the studio (ground floor) and the cabin (first floor). Access is from the car park via a large wooden porch dating from 1817. The patio is decorated with a number of features from the building's wine-growing past. It also provides access to the laundry area (washing machine), bike storage and an additional toilet. The garden area (formerly the moat!), protected by the hundred-year-old lime tree, features a simple, refreshing 10 m² swimming pool with a 20 m² wooden terrace, half shaded, half sunny, A barbecue area, petanque area and table tennis table near the swimming pool allow you to enjoy the outdoors.
