Description
Our house was named after Louis 1st de Bourbon, the first Prince de Condé, 1546-1569. He was the uncle of the future king, Henri IV, and leader of the Protestants during the Wars of Religion. Situated in the centre of France in the department of Allier, the medieval town of Charroux is listed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France, the only one in the Allier. "La Maison du Prince de Condé", dating from the 13th to 18th centuries, lies in the peaceful heart of this medieval town. The old moat has been replaced by a charming enclosed garden planted with trees and flowers.
