RESTAURANTS We are fortunate to have a restaurant within walking distance of the chalet, "LE RELAIS DU LUTTENBACH", which is located at the campsite. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk along the GR or 1 minute by car. To get there on foot, you can walk along the road, but we advise you to take the GR instead: leave the chalet and walk along the road to the left, then you will see a small path go off to the left alongside the neighbouring house. Take this and you will come to the GR which runs along the stream on the other side of the chalet. Turn left and walk to the middle of the campsite, where you'll see a "Club Vosgien" sign and a staircase leading down, go ahead and join the restaurant at the entrance to the campsite. The food is varied and good value for money, the terrace is nice in the summer, they are open from Wednesday to Sunday, they offer pizzas in the evening (also takeaway), you can also order takeaway meals. https://www.facebook.com/relaisduluttenbach 03 88 83 45 01 We also recommend the LOTEL restaurant, which is in the village. It's a very good address with a pretty setting (we particularly like the summer garden) and inventive cuisine using market produce and seasonal produce. There are other restaurants in the village: HOSTELLERIE SAINT-FLORENT and LES RUINES DU NIDECK. There are also often foodtrucks on the square in front of the Mairie. There is also a bakery and a PROXI with everything you need for cooking. WALKS/HIKING We recommend the walk to the CASCADE DU NIDECK, which you can start on foot from the chalet. Leave the chalet and walk along the road to the left, you will then see a small path go off to the left along the neighbouring house, take it, you will arrive on the GR which runs along the stream on the other side of the chalet. Turn right and walk to a small bridge, rejoin the road and walk along it to the car park, which is the start of the walk. Climb up to the magnificent waterfall. You then have several options: - return along the same path (approx. 45 min round trip from the chalet) - continue the loop (approx. 1h15-1h30 total) From the waterfall, continue on the path that leads upwards. Once you reach the top, you can turn left to go as far as the château (approx. 15 minutes return) or go right. The path continues through the forest and descends again, you will come to a white pebble path, follow it a little then you will see a path go off into the forest on the left, take it and go down again, you will arrive just opposite the lodge near the neighbouring chalet. You can also do the loop in the other direction by climbing directly in front of the chalet, but it's quite a long way up, so we advise you to do it the other way round, as it's more pleasant. We particularly recommend - the Mutzig rock and the Porte de Pierre, a hike starting from the chalet - the contemporary sculpture trail on the road leading to the village - there's also the DONON temple and its magnificent panorama 45 minutes away, or the champ du feu 35 minutes away, where you can go sledging, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. -
