Nestling in the heart of a lush green landscape, on the original farm of a family duck farm, is the Gîte des Mouliots. This unique place, set in the heart of a farm with a traditional canning factory and its own shop for direct sales of its products, offers a peaceful setting for holidays with family or friends, combining modern comforts with authenticity. Here, ducks have been reared for 4 generations and transformed into excellent dishes: foie gras, magrets, confits and much more. This completely self-contained accommodation, recently converted into a furnished holiday home, will give you the chance to enjoy a simple stay, meet the farmers and get a change of scene in a small village in the South-West of France. You can even learn the culinary secrets of the grandmothers of the Gers to delight your taste buds. Ideally located, it will be the starting point for a whole host of discoveries in a region full of wonderful surprises. The gîte includes : - A spacious, warm and friendly living area with two comfortable sofas, one with a chaise longue, inviting you to relax after a day of exploring. There's also a connected TV, board games, books and DVDs. A spacious dining area is dedicated to sharing time together over a delicious meal prepared using local produce. - A fully equipped kitchen allows you to cook just like at home, and there is a table and chairs for an informal meal. You'll find a fridge with freezer compartment, 4-burner hob and oven, dishwasher, plenty of cupboard space, microwave, coffee maker and Senseo, toaster, kettle. We can lend you a Cookeo on request. The washing machine is in the shower room. The kitchen has direct access to the private terrace, with garden furniture for outdoor meals and aperitifs, overlooking the wooded park. - Three large bedrooms: o Master bedroom: with king-size bed (160x200cm), small table, chair and mirror, comfortable armchair, wardrobe with shelves and hanging space. o The second bedroom: perfect for a couple or a young adult, with a 140x190cm bed and a wardrobe with mirror. o The third bedroom: ideal for families with children, combining two 90cm beds and a bed with bars, a chest of drawers and plenty of storage space. - For the little ones, there's a games room where they can have fun and share unforgettable moments. Board games, puzzles, children's toys and books - everything you need for a memorable holiday. As well as a cot, you'll also have a high chair and a bath to make your holiday with baby easier. Bed linen and towels are provided free of charge. Beds will be made up on arrival. Cleaning at the end of your stay is extra. Pets are welcome free of charge. We ourselves have two very friendly dogs who only go out under our supervision and are only too happy to play once they have been introduced. Our nearest neighbours have a kennel where you can have your dog or cat looked after if you are away for more than 24 hours. You will have free access to the park, where your children can play to their heart's content and where you can even have a picnic on the grass or by the pond. In the evening, the clear skies away from light pollution are perfect for stargazing. The large courtyard adjoining the accommodation is perfect for a game of pétanque. There is also plenty of space to park one or two cars. We are not equipped to recharge electric cars. Cooking workshops at the canning factory : We have been duck breeders for four generations. We can offer you cookery workshops where you can learn, for example, how to make your own foie gras: perhaps you'll take it home as a souvenir of the summer holidays you spent with us, to impress your family and friends during the festive season? Isabelle, who is a member of the Confrérie du Foie Gras, will be delighted to share her expertise with you. In summer, country-style evenings are organised on the farm, with meals prepared using farm produce and live music! Perhaps you'll be lucky enough to be there and take part? The Gîte des Mouliots is ideally situated for discovering all the treasures of the region: - Outdoor activities: Take advantage of the hiking and cycling trails that wind through the picturesque countryside, test your mettle in a kayak or canoe, discover the surrounding countryside and observe its inhabitants, birds, deer... - Visit castles and historic sites: discover the vestiges of the past that dot the region. Wander through the villages and be charmed by their architecture and medieval atmosphere. - Local delicacies and flavours: Explore the local markets and savour the region's fresh produce. Take part in wine and craft tastings. Indulge in tasty local dishes. What to do around Monblanc with family or friends : - The town of Samatan, 5 km away, has all the shops you need. There is also a 9-hectare lake with a fitness trail, picnic tables for refreshments, a beach tennis/beach volleyball court, children's games, a fishing trail (carnadrome and no kill), a sandy beach, a pumptrack and free mini-golf. For swimmers, the municipal swimming pool is open in summer. And don't forget the famous Monday morning market! - Lombez cathedral, dating from the 14th century, 7 km away. Lombez also offers a charming, safe pedestrian walk along the water's edge. - The Maquis de Meilhan is 25 minutes away and recounts a tragic moment in our history, commemorated every year on 7 July. - The town of Auch, prefecture of the Gers, 40 minutes from Samatan, offers, among other things, a superb historical trail and a journey through time. - The "pink city" of Toulouse, also 40 minutes away, has become the third largest city in France, and will surprise you with its charming, lively and sunny city centre and its walks along the Garonne, as well as its dynamism: summer festivals, the Halle à la Machine, a visit to the Airbus factory, the Cité de l'Espace... - The Pyrenees are just an hour and a half away, opening the door to Spain. - Carcassonne and the Cathar country 1hr30 away - The Mediterranean Sea is 2 hours away, and the Basque Country and the ocean less than 3 hours.
