- Reception of curists or families of curists : For 3 weeks 10% discount. There are two spa and health resorts close to Camplong, Lamalou les Bains (< 16km by car) and Avène (< 22 km by car). The gîte has exceptional access for wheelchair users or people with reduced mobility up to the terrace level. There is only one small step to get in, but the interior design does not comply with specific disabled access standards. - Sporting activities: For more information, visit the village website or the Parc Régional du Haut Languedoc, where a wide range of walking and mountain-biking activities at different levels are described and on offer (see links below). Lunas, 10km away, has a leisure water sports centre (games, swimming pool, fishing) and a "green" route, an old railway line, which runs from here to Castres by bike, on foot (Chemin de Compostelle) or on horseback. - Hiking A number of walks (Visiorando, for example), mountain bike rides and horse riding are available from the gîte. Packed donkeys can be hired to accompany your hikes. The gîte has a stable that can be put back into use if you give us at least 15 days' notice. - The Lamalou les bains golf course is a quarter of an hour's drive away, 9 holes, very family-friendly, with a good restaurant, tee times can be booked, internet link below; tel: 04 67 95 08 47 - The Parc Régional du Haut Languedoc, of which we are a partner, organises theme days (heritage, gastronomy, dry-stone courses, nature, flora and fauna, mushrooms, caves, history, etc.), information on site, a web link is available below. - Hunting: Subject to authorisations, permits or opening dates, a diane (wild boar, roe deer, stag) operates at Camplong, information on request. We have received bow hunters from Aveyron and Moselle. - Fishing: Subject to authorisations, permits or opening dates, rivers rich in fish and crayfish flow nearby, and you can also fish in lakes (Avène, Salagou, 20 minutes away, mountain lakes on the Espinouse or the Montagne Noire, a little further away). - Cultural activities: The various cultural and tourist offices in the area and in the Parc Régional du Haut Languedoc provide information about the many shows (theatre, concerts, conferences, etc.) in the Haut Cantons. The Grand Café in Camplong is a focal point for these activities (see link below). - Tourism: The villages, including Camplong, are often of medieval origin and contain architectural remains of great aesthetic quality, less than 10 km from Camplong: Villemagne l'Argentière and its churches, its Hôtel de la Monnaie; Boussagues, a fortified village listed as a historic monument; a little further Joncels and its abbey; Lunas and its Visigoth remains or Olargues, St Guillem le Désert etc... We have received several pilgrims for Santiago de Compostela. The beaches (Valras, Sérignan, etc.) are less than an hour's drive away, except where there is heavy traffic. Natural sites such as the Gorges d'Heric, the Lac du Salagou (for swimming), the Cirque de Navacelles, the Cirque de Mourèze, the Plateaux de l'Espinouse and Larzac, and the Massif du Carroux are all remarkable, and less than an hour's drive away. In the summer, Camplong and the surrounding villages host themed festivals and evenings: music, theatre, operettas (Lamalou festival), wine tasting and medieval festivals (Dio and Valquières classical music festival). Environment We are located in a valley in the Haut Cantons of the Hérault, 10 km north of Bédarieux, 42 km from Béziers and 86 km from Montpellier. There is a train station at Bédarieux and an airfield at Vias-Béziers.
