Origin and soul of the place Next to a XVIᵉ century house, listed as a Historic Monument, "la Boutique d'Yvonne" stands in the centre of an old fortified village. A former boutique and fashion workshop, the house retains the charm of an artisanal past while now offering contemporary comfort. Architecture and atmosphere The façade was rebuilt in the early 20th century from Saintonge stone when the workshop was converted. 💫 Modern comfort in a historic setting. Layout of the three levels: - Ground floor: a living room with fitted kitchen, lounge, dining area, washing machine and WC. Wifi is free and available. - 1st floor: double bedroom (bed 140×190) with en-suite bathroom (shower/bath and WC). - 2nd floor: air-conditioned mezzanine with study area and seating area. In a row, a 13 m² bedroom with two single "boat" beds (130x190 and 115x185 wide) for greater comfort. Facilities designed for your minimum 2-night stay: - Air conditioning, wifi, hi-fi system, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, office area, equipment for your young child or baby is available (cot, bath seat, bottle warmer and high chair)... All the comforts of home in a setting steeped in history. Capacity and accommodation : Up to 4 people, your well-behaved pets are welcome free of charge. On request, I can provide you with a private garage to store your bikes or motorbikes in complete safety. To enjoy the beautiful weather, there is a large park 380 m away with games for children, tables and benches. However, on request, I can lend you a table, 4 garden chairs and 1 barbecue. Dogs are not allowed, but I can make available a riverside garden 500m away on request. Open from March to November (excluding the annual works period). If you give me enough time, I can accommodate a specific request for a stay outside this closed period. It's the owner herself who welcomes you on site, with an eye for detail and the desire to make your stay a pleasant one. 🕒 Arrival time You can arrive in the afternoon, usually between 3pm and 7pm, by appointment. When you make your reservation, please let us know your estimated time of arrival so that we can organise your arrival in the best possible conditions. 📍 Welcome on site The appointment takes place directly in front of the house, at: 13 place de la Mairie, 86460 Availles-Limouzine. The owner will personally open the doors to the gîte, hand you the keys and show you around the house, while explaining: how the equipment works (heating, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, etc.) practical information (shops, parking, selective sorting, etc.) useful local addresses (restaurants, markets, places to visit, etc.) 💬 A time to chat The welcome is also an opportunity to share a few words about the history of this listed house, its special features and the owner's favourites for the region.
