Hiking & nature walks: From Cézens, a number of trails take you through the superb Cantal mountain landscape. One of them is a 7.2 km loop marked as a moderately difficult route. Mountain biking & cycling: The area around Cézens is well-suited to mountain biking (trails, forest tracks) and road cycling, for those who love beautiful volcanic panoramas. Cross-country skiing & winter sports: In winter, the area lends itself very well to cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, thanks to the altitude and the gentle alpine landscape. Heritage & local attractions: Visit the Église Saint-Germain de Cézens, a Gothic church with a remarkable Renaissance-style altarpiece. Local life & terroir : Enjoy the tranquillity of accommodation in the heart of nature, meet the small producers, and discover the gastronomy of the region (cheeses, etc.). Seasonality and change of scenery: The site offers a setting for all seasons - flowers and hiking in spring/summer, autumn colours, snow in winter - making it a "4-season" holiday.

The gîte is located in a small hamlet in the commune of Cézens, in the heart of the Cantal region (Auvergne). Easily accessible by car, it is nestled in an unspoilt natural setting, close to the main roads, yet offering a peaceful change of scenery. From Saint-Flour (20 km - approx. 25 min) Take the D921 towards Murat, then turn towards Cézens. Then follow the signs for the hamlet of Trélis. From Murat (25 km - approx. 30 min) Take the D926 then the D921 towards Cézens. The hamlet of Trélis is just a few minutes from the village. From Clermont-Ferrand (140 km - approx. 2 hrs) Take the A75 towards Montpellier. Exit at Saint-Flour, then follow the D921 towards Murat / Cézens. From Aurillac (65 km - approx. 1 h 15) Take the N122 towards Massiac, then follow signs for Murat and Cézens. 🚗 Free parking is available in the immediate vicinity of the gîte. In winter, bring snow equipment (winter tyres or chains) as the area is in mid-mountain and can be snowy.
