The holidaymakers have also recommended certain activities which have enthused them: *Visit the Guilvinec fish market: Haliotika-La cité de la pêche 02.98.58.28.38. *You can also go to the fishing port around 4.30pm to watch the arrival of the fishing boats. Le Guilvinec is France's leading traditional fishing port. If you have a few euros in your pocket, you can buy your langoustines (if it's the right season, between April and October) directly from the fishermen. * Take a surfing course at La Torche, which is offered by a number of surf schools. *Climb to the top of the Eckmülh lighthouse, information and bookings at the Vieux Phare: 02.98.58.72.87. The Eckmühl lighthouse is a maritime lighthouse located on the Pointe de Saint-Pierre in Penmarc'h. It is over 60 metres high. It was inaugurated on 17 October 1897 and owes its name to the title of nobility of the donor who largely financed it. For safety reasonś, visits to the lighthouse are limited to groups of no more than 40 people. The tour lasts around 30 minutes. The view is breathtaking from the top! Children under the age of 12 must be systematically supervised by an adult. Climbing the tower, which has 290 steps, requires a good level of fitness. People with heart or respiratory problems are not allowed to climb the tower. Animals are not allowed inside the lighthouse. The easiest way to get to the residence is to cross the bridge at the entrance to Le Guilvinec on your left. Once on the other side, opposite the "Le Bataclan" bar, turn immediately right. Continue straight on, skirting the harbour, passing the bar "Les Brisants" and following the road that runs alongside the sea. Turn right at the junction at the end of the beach. Be careful, the next bend is at right angles. You'll come to the fishpond, where the residence is in the street on your left. The residence is the highest house, at number 2 rue Parc Morvan. You've arrived by the easiest route. Don't hesitate to take a stroll down the little streets that all lead to your holiday destination from the bridge, as you will see.
