Less than 10 km away: the bay and the coast on your doorstep Dragey-Ronthon Beach is about 3.5 km away; here you can enjoy the coast, stroll with your feet in the sand, and admire the bay and Mont-Saint-Michel in the distance. The dune area is particularly well suited to walking or cycling. The coastal path also takes you gradually out to the bay’s scenery. Hiking and the GR223: hiking enthusiasts are particularly well catered for at this accommodation. The GR223 runs along the coast and offers magnificent panoramic views of the bay, particularly between Carolles, Saint-Jean-le-Thomas, Dragey-Ronthon and Genêts Exploring the bay with a guide: this is probably the activity not to be missed after Mont-Saint-Michel. From Dragey-Ronthon and the neighbouring towns, several guides offer boat trips and guided tours of the bay. Some offer trips lasting 2 hours, 3 hours or 6 hours Between 10 and 40 km: Granville, Avranches and the bay Granville – approximately 15 km This is an unmissable trip from the gîte. Places to visit: the Upper Town and its ramparts; the harbour; the beaches; the market; the museums; the Christian Dior Garden; the restaurants and shops; the ferry departures to the Chausey Islands. Richard Anacréon Museum of Modern Art Avranches – approximately 20 km: Avranches is well worth half a day, particularly for its heritage and panoramic views of the bay. The Scriptorial, the Mont-Saint-Michel manuscript museum, is an excellent choice for a cultural outing, particularly when the weather is less favourable. Baie Ecomuseum – Vains: a great way to learn about how the bay works, its landscapes, traditional activities and its environment. Jullouville and Carolles: Head north to enjoy the beaches and coastal scenery. In Carolles, the walk along the Champeaux cliffs offers one of the most beautiful views of the bay. The coastal path also takes you past the Vauban huts and the Lude valley. Mont Saint-Michel: From the holiday cottage, visitors can spend half a day or a full day exploring Mont Saint-Michel, its abbey, its narrow streets and the bay. Over 40 km: longer day trips Channel Islands: Depending on available ferry services, holidaymakers can also consider a trip to Jersey or Guernsey from the west coast. Saint-Malo, Cancale or Dinan: lovely day trips in Brittany: ramparts, the old town, Sillon Beach, the harbour and a maritime atmosphere. History and the D-Day beaches: for history enthusiasts, a day can be spent visiting the D-Day beaches, notably Utah Beach, Sainte-Mère-Église, Carentan and the various sites linked to D-Day. The Normandy Victory Museum, in Carentan-les-Marais, offers a particularly interesting insight into the Battle of the Hedgerows.

Directions: from Caen or Rennes, join the A84 towards Avranches. In Avranches, follow signs for Granville, then Sartilly-Baie-Bocage and Dragey-Ronthon. Once in Ronthon, take the Route de la Mer (D241) towards the coast and continue to No. 39.
