A remarkable heritage: Dominated by the majestic ruins of its 16th-century medieval castle, Hierges charms visitors with its cobbled streets and traditional stone architecture. Nature & Activities: The ideal starting point for cycling along the Trans-Ardennes Greenway, kayaking in the Semois Valley, or exploring the hiking trails of the Meuse Valley. Local charm: Enjoy a peaceful setting punctuated by the village’s traditional terraces and local pubs. 🏡 ACCOMMODATION: La Jonquière Holiday Cottage (sleeps 4) Combining old-world charm with modern comfort, our accommodation welcomes you with a warm and unique atmosphere. Ground floor: Fully equipped kitchen beneath an old vaulted cellar: Prepare your meals in a space full of character, complete with an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and everything you need. Living area: A cosy lounge/dining room centred around a fireplace and equipped with a television. First floor: Bedroom 1 (Mezzanine): A cosy bedroom with a double bed (140x190). Bedroom 2: A separate bedroom with two single beds (90x190). Bathroom: With bath/shower, washbasin and toilet. Facilities & Services: Wi-Fi, washing machine, central heating. Pets welcome (subject to prior request). Bed linen, towels and end-of-stay cleaning services available.

🚗 By car Hierges is ideally situated in the Pointe des Ardennes, easily accessible from France and Belgium: From Paris / Reims: Take the A4 motorway, then the A34 towards Charleville-Mézières. Continue on the D8043 and the D988 along the Meuse valley to Vireux-Molhain, then follow signs for Hierges. From Lille / Valenciennes: Travel through Belgium via the N5/E420 towards Dinant, then join the D988 after the border. From Brussels / Namur: Take the E411 towards Namur, then the N92 along the Meuse towards Dinant and Givet, before crossing the border towards Hierges. 🚆 By train Nearest station: Vireux-Molhain station (just 3 km from Hierges). Frequent TER services run on the Charleville-Mézières–Givet line. TGV / Main Line connections: Charleville-Mézières station (approx. 50 km away): direct TGV services from Paris-Est (approx. 1 hour 40 minutes). Namur railway station (Belgium, approx. 55 km away): fast services to Brussels and the Belgian rail network. ✈️ By plane Charleroi Brussels South Airport (BSCA, Belgium): approx. 65 km (about 1 hour’s drive).
