Hello and delighted to welcome you to our second residence, La Rouquette, bought in 1997, where we also spend our holidays, taking advantage of the magnificent location to relax in peace and quiet, but also to discover the whole range of activities in the region. If you're a keen walker in the green hills, a history buff who prefers peace and quiet away from the big cities and overcrowded beaches, we'd like to invite you to discover this heavenly place during a comfortable stay in a charming house that has been completely restored, with all modern conveniences. Fibre optic cable will be installed in 2024, so you'll be able to work from home while enjoying this magical place and discovering the local gastronomy and Cahors or Tsar wines. Situated in Lot-et-Garonne, on the borders of Quercy, Périgord and Gascony, it's a great place for day trips and visits to major sites such as Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Sarlat, Rocamadour, Lascaux and the chateaux of Périgord and Lot, the Château des Milandes, once owned by Josephine Bakker, the Gouffre de Padirac, Moissac, Cahors, Agen, Bordeaux, Toulouse, the Dune du Pilat, Carcassonne and all the bastides of the Agenais region (fortified towns dating from the Hundred Years War). The area is also halfway between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, and lies between the Garonne and Lot rivers, close to their confluence at Aiguillon. The Garonne then becomes the Gironde, an estuary created when the Garonne and Dordogne rivers meet. The Gironde estuary is a reminder of the great wines of Bordeaux, and an opportunity to discover the great growths: Blaye, Paulliac, St-Estèphe, ...., not forgetting the Margaux, Saint Emilion and .... wines. There's plenty of family fun to be had at Z'Animoland, Aqualibi and ...., not forgetting all the gourmet markets and festive evenings every day of the week, where you can discover local food and wine in a festive atmosphere.
