NEARBY SPORTING AND TOURIST ACTIVITIES There is a wide range of sporting and tourist activities in the High Alps, but here are just a few of the most common: Hiking: from Lardier, there are several hikes of around 1 hour or more, at an altitude of 1000m and easily accessible to children: Petite Céüse- Pic de Crigne- Lac de Peyssier (night in a refuge possible)- A little further on, the Champoléon Valley (night in the Touron refuge possible), the Valgaudemar, the Champsaur (50km) and of course the Ecrins massif at around 90KM (the corresponding maps are available if you wish). Mountaineering with all grades of difficulty and nights in refuge in Champsaur, Valgaudemar, Ecrins, Queyras, Briançonnais... Climbing and vias ferratas, including the Grande Fistoire, one of the most beautiful in France (not far from where we live) Mountain biking (bike hire available in Gap) from the village, with many circuits; downhill mountain biking in the ski resorts (hire available) Aquatic activities: Just a few kilometres away on the Lac de Pelleautier, on the Durance or on the Lac de Serre Ponçon (45km), you'll find all kinds of activities - canoeing, kayaking, pedalos and sailing. White-water fishing on the Durance, Büech or Drac rivers and Lac de Pelleautier. Aerial sports at Tallard aerodrome, Europe's largest platform for all disciplines, open all year round: wind tunnel, tandem parachute jumps, first flights. Tourism: Visit Tallard castle, Boscodon abbey, the Théüs capped maidens and discover the surrounding area, the old town of Embrun or Manosque, the Serre Ponçon mountain zoo, the citadels of Sisteron or Mont-Dauphin, etc. This list is not exhaustive and you will find plenty of information in the gîte to help you make your choice,
