About this Holiday rental
‘La Maison du Grand-Père’ (Grand Dad’s Home) is a very pleasant house, refurbished and independent, located in a quiet village, off main roads and close to all modern life conveniences.
Looking south, the house has its own 700 square -meter very private garden, closed and shady and its own closed and private parking area.
The village of Jonquerettes offers a perfect location and access to all the major touristic places of the area. Close to Avignon, reputed for its historical patrimony and its internationally renowned drama festival, and the village of l’Isle sur la Sorgue, well-known European place for antique and second-hand furniture dealers, a lovely place for wandering through its local open market on a sunny Sunday morning.
If required, we can inform you about the best places to visit as well as local markets, restaurants, vine growers, Côtes du Rhône among the best ones, etc.
Two golf courses (18-hole) are located less than 3 miles from the house and for those in search of river activities, rowing and canoë, are offered on the nearby Sorgue river . Bike rental is also possible for those who wish to visit the surrounding countryside at their own speed and comfort. For both children and adults, a new water theme park is located in Monteux, about 6 miles from Jonquerettes.
You will of course, if that is your choice, enjoy reading in the quiet and shady garden of the house or enjoy the pleasure of our Provence sun.
You will have the choice for your meal times between the sunny garden or the shaded terrace. Garden furniture, table, chairs and armchairs as well as a wheel barbecue come with the house.
The house enjoys a ‘3 clés’ ranking by CLEVACANCES and a ‘3 étoiles’ ranking by the Vaucluse tourist administration.
The house itself is about 90 square meters, on two levels, ground floor and one upper floor. It is very cosy and furnished with old and authentic local pieces of furniture. Thanks to its old and thick walls, inside temperature is always cool, which is enjoyable especially in summer.
The ground floor offers an entry hall with a beautiful stone staircase to the upper floor, a lounge with comfortable sofas, a dining room with fully equipped kitchen space, a bathroom, separate toilets and a large shed for bicycles or motorcycles.
The upper floor offers a large south looking bedroom with a wide two-person bed (160 cms), a second smaller bedroom with two 90cm individual beds, and a bathroom with toilets.
Sheets and bathroom linen are provided.
A high baby chair is available as well as a baby bed if required.
‘Chèques Vacances’ are accepted
Heating charges when required are 70 euros per week.
