The generous cuisine of Cabourg

This former fishing village has gradually become a popular seaside resort in the department of Calvados. Cabourg has a population of around 3,700 and lies at the heart of the Côte Fleurie, an area stretching between the Touques and Orne estuaries. It was awarded the Famille Plus label in 2007 and stands out for its remarkable environmental heritage. Its merchants and restaurateurs will be delighted to help you discover the region's best culinary specialities. If you're a lover of dairy products, you won't be able to resist a slice of Pont-l'évêque or Livarot, two emblematic Calvados cheeses. If you're feeling peckish at snack time, you'll be spoilt for choice with teurgoule, bourdelot or the succulent Normandy soufflé. Le Pays d'Auge also highlights tasty drinks such as cider from Normandy and calvados, a brandy particularly popular as an aperitif. All in all, you'll be treated to a rich and varied gastronomy during your holiday!"

The charms of this commune on the English Channel

Cabourg's gentle way of life is perfectly embodied by its coastline. It attracts holidaymakers thanks to corners with inimitable charm! The Cap Cabourg beach, for example, is surprisingly wild. You can also lay down your towel in other places along the English Channel, such as the central beach. It has the advantage of being supervised, and deckchairs can be hired during the summer. You can leave your little ones in the capable hands of the entertainers at the various beach clubs. They'll keep them entertained with a range of activities organised on the sand or in the water. Afterwards, there are several options for exploring the must-see places near your bed and breakfast in Cabourg. An idyllic seafront, flower-filled gardens and well-tended architecture: discover all the attractions of this seaside resort on the little tourist train! Praised for his talent as a writer, Marcel Proust was one of the great personalities who enjoyed spending their holidays on the Côte Fleurie. A guided tour is devoted to the relationship between this author and the charming town of Cabourg. Another way to discover the magnificent landscapes of Calvados is on foot! Put on suitable footwear, cover up properly and enjoy this extraordinary environment. Water sports are also popular with travellers: sand yachting, jet skiing, sea kayaking, stand-up paddling, etc.

The main tourist attractions around Cabourg

. There's nothing to stop you checking out the region's other tourist attractions during your stay! These are concentrated in Caen, which is home to a Musée des Beaux-Arts where some remarkable works are on display. Don't hesitate to enter Saint-Pierre church and visit the superb Abbaye aux Dames, two places steeped in history.

The Pays d'Auge has plenty of other surprises in store for you! A visit to the Cerza zoological park can make for a very enjoyable family getaway, as can a visit to the Château de Vendeuvre.
