Discover Cabourg and the surrounding area on holiday

Cabourg is a seaside resort renowned for its pretty Belle Epoque villas, grand architecture, Grand Hotel, Casino, beautiful sandy beach and gardens. There's plenty to do in the way of sightseeing, walking, water sports, beaches, trendy clubs and shopping! To get a general impression of the town, hop on board the Little Tourist Train! A 45-minute ride awaits you, where you can discover all the most beautiful spots in Cabourg, while listening to the driver's explanations of the town, its history and its many anecdotes! Visit the Villa du Temps Retrouvé. Just opened in 2021, this museum, with its paintings, furniture, costumes and immersive experience, will plunge you into the atmosphere of the Norman era of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A pleasant step back in time! The Promenade Marcel Proust is THE place to visit in Cabourg. It's one of the longest pedestrian promenades in Europe. Overlooking the sea for almost 4 km, you'll have a magnificent view of the hills of the Côte Fleurie and Le Havre. The promenade is just as pleasant for a leisurely stroll as it is for your morning jog. It pays tribute to Marcel Proust, who lived in Cabourg for many years. You can read some of his literary extracts on the signs along the way, while taking a deep breath of sea air. Take advantage of your nearby gîte to come and admire the superb sunsets in the evening, with the cry of the seagulls. Still along this Promenade, you'll discover the Méridien de l'Amour. Five columns represent the five continents, and on each column is inscribed the word 'love' in a hundred different languages. This site was inaugurated during the 30th anniversary of the Cabourg Film Festival in 2016. It's a very impressive sight! With its 4 kilometres of turquoise water and fine sand, Cabourg beach is an ideal place to relax. For your comfort, deckchairs, parasols and beach huts are available. The beach club is there to organise water activities for the little ones!

Activities to do near Cabourg during your holiday

Take advantage of your gite in Cabourg to enjoy water activities. Go to Cabourg Jet, on the marina. Instructors will be on hand to offer you jet ski, sea scooter, zodiac or even open flyer sessions in complete safety. Another suggestion among the many activities available is to try your luck with the 75 slot machines at the Cabourg Casino. Take advantage of the Kaz restaurant and its wide variety of local produce, with a magnificent view of the sea. Push open the door of the Thalazur thalassotherapy centre and take advantage of the various relaxation and beauty treatments on offer. In the evening, for those who love music and dancing, let yourself be tempted by the city's trendiest club, the Gatsby. Take advantage of this festive atmosphere to relax to the full. Dress up and dance the night away! If you're a keen equestrian or love horses, an original idea from your gîte is to watch a horse race, while sampling regional dishes in a gourmet restaurant with a direct view of the track! For gourmets and food lovers, a visit to the Halles des Marchés is a must! Renowned for its authenticity and friendly atmosphere, the Halles du Marché is a great place to buy fresh, local and delicious produce from small local traders. To keep things tasty, why not try a snack at Dupont? A veritable institution in Cabourg and on the Côte Fleurie, the patisserie is just exquisite! The Sévigné - an almond and hazelnut success -, the Délice - a melting pistachio cream flavoured with Kirsch and candied fruit, with a crunchy meringue - and the Dame Blanche - crunchy meringue, Normandy cream chantilly, chestnut cream and glazed chestnut pieces - are all prepared by Jean-Pierre Etienvre - Meilleur Ouvrier de France. Your stay in Cabourg will be one to remember!
