The owner of a Clévacances accommodation is entitled to ask you for a certificate of insurance relating to the holiday extension (see below extract from the general conditions of the Clévacances rental contract).
You are liable to the owner for any damage that you or your family may cause to the owner's property (real estate and personal property) during your stay, unless you can prove a case of force majeure, a construction defect or a lack of maintenance for which the owner is responsible. As a general rule, this holiday extension is included in the "civil liability" policy of your home insurance. For more information and to obtain a certificate, contact your insurer. Extract from the general conditions of the Clévacances INSURANCE contract: The tenant is obliged to insure the premises entrusted or rented to him. He must therefore check whether his main home policy includes the holiday extension (holiday rental).
If this is not the case, you should contact your insurance company and ask for the cover to be extended, or take out a special policy with a "holiday home" clause. A certificate of insurance cover will be requested when you enter the premises.
