Rental accommodation types in the countryside

On our platform dedicated to holidays, mainly in France, you'll have no trouble identifying the countryside accommodation that fully suits you. One of our small, charming gites, if you're only accompanied by your partner, or a much more spacious rental with several bedrooms in case you're coming to spend a few nights in a village in the countryside with family or friends. Browse through Clevacances and you're bound to find a few characterful gites located in Dordogne, Provence or just a few miles from towns in Brittany, for example. For a stay in the countryside in summer, there's nothing nicer than putting your bags down in a charming house with a swimming pool, enclosed garden and boules pitch! In winter, there are a number of rentals available in beautiful resorts, with carefully decorated bedrooms and ski storage among the rooms on offer. A heated rental with an authentic fireplace, just like the Cantou in the south-west.

Holiday cottage in the countryside: where to choose your rental?

If Provence and its advantageous climate find favour in your eyes, renting a holiday home in the countryside will be child's play! It's impossible not to marvel when you choose a charming house in France in a country village such as Lourmarin, Roussillon, Eygalières or Les Baux de Provence. In these regions, if your budget allows, you even have the opportunity to spend a holiday in accommodation located on an authentic wine estate. In the Dordogne, there's also plenty of choice for a rejuvenating country break: Limeuil, Monpazier, Domme...

Of course, many gites and other types of country rentals with several spacious rooms and comfortable bedrooms are available elsewhere in France. Whether for one or more nights, particularly in Bas-Berry, the Landes, the Marais Poitevin and so on. While not all have a swimming pool, many have a terrace and/or garden, ensuring a truly memorable holiday.

Activities to do near your holiday rental in the countryside

Depending on the accommodation you choose for your holiday in the French countryside, you'll have access to a whole host of fun activities. With children in tow, for example, it's worth planning a holiday in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes or the Oise. These two territories respectively attract travellers with their theme parks Le Pal and the famous Parc Astérix, located close to beautiful rentals including charming gites with fully renovated rooms. In Gordes, Venasque, Trans en Provence or elsewhere in the Midi, hiking is a great way to get away from it all! Just a few minutes away from your holiday home in the countryside, there's sure to be a trail allowing you to get away from it all and discover the majestic landscapes of Provence. In Dordogne, descending the river of the same name remains a must-do leisure activity, as does exploring the many châteaux that attract so many travellers to France every year. In Gironde, whether you're staying just a few nights or longer in your holiday home in the countryside, a visit to an iconic wine estate is also just the thing!"
